Worth a visit for the atmosphere and concept alone! I love the idea of sharing what are normally quite heavy comfort food dishes, somehow makes them less indulgent and more interesting and conceptual…
Go here on a day where you can sit outside, it gets sweltering inside. Prices are a bit high but definitely not outrageous.
Service is quite Dutch (disinterested) but not rude, and you can linger for as long as you like.

Ah, what a difference a single word makes… so they serve Southern style American comfort food. It isn’t super authentic but the food is tasty and hits the spot. Stick with the typical Southern food choices and you’ll be having a great meal! The dishes are small portion sized and made for sharing, so you may need to order 2 – 3 dishes per person.

Their fried chicken, corn on the cob, and baked potato were very tasty, but sadly their gumbo and pumpkin risotto weren’t so… So stick to classics and you won’t go wrong.
Their home made iced tea is super delicious and the perfect answer to a hot summer day.

Typical Dutch service. We were seated outside and it was a bit hard to get the attention of our servers, especially when we wanted to pay.

Their menus were made from cool vintage vinyl disks! Also the outside seating is right along a major bike path and you get to watch bicyclers whizzing by.

The dishes are small and you have better control over how much you spend. For a moderate meal, about € 25 per person.

Want to have a good burger in a place where there is a huge photo of BB King’s crotch hovering over the napkin holder?
This is your place.
They have a mix of American style comfort food + other stuff. I had the jerk chicken sandwich. While it was not totally authentic, it was still quite tasty. My friends had the Soul Burger and they looked quite good. BTW, that jerk sandwich was open-​faced.
Don’t half step. If you’re looking for a cocktail and a good gastro pub burger then this is your spot in Leiden.
