I walked in to the area from the north side and the first place is Nogal Wiedus, but I knew immediately that was too fancy for my liking. Storm is more my style — it’s sort of a classy dive bar, if that makes much sense. Young guys behind the bar running the place are very nice and explained the parts of the menu I couldn’t figure out. It’s mostly snacks, beer, and coffee drinks. I saw a sate plate and ordered it — wasn’t disappointed. It came with two huge skewers of BBQ chicken with sate sauce, potato salad, pickles, some sort of puff chips, and frites. Tons of outdoor and indoor seating. Out back is especially nice — you’re about 50 feet from the tower and you overlook the water. Cushions on the seats make it a nice lounge spot. They have this seating out front, too. Definitely worth checking out.
