Courtyard Amsterdam Airport

This is an OK hotel that is in an OK location… for flying in and out of Amsterdam. As others have stated, it is NOT close to Amsterdam… but what has not been mentioned is that it really isn’t even that close to the airport. It was a 15 minute shuttle ride from the airport and the shuttle only runs a few times an hour. The hotel itself is very typical Courtyard by Marriott from what I have experienced in the states. It does NOT come close to comparing to the quality of Courtyards in Asia. My biggest complaints and the two things that kept me from giving it 4 stars were: our room and the hallway around our room stunk. I am not sure where the smell was coming from. The other was the bed was NOT near regular Marriott quality beds. The mattresses were mediocre at best.

Great hotel. Highly recommended. Everything is new and modern and pretty. The room and bathroom were large. The staff was friendly. Everything very clean.
The price was very reasonable compared with rates for hotels directly in the city center and given that driving in Amsterdam is awful and parking extremely expensive I think I’d rather stay here (though you would lose time getting to the center).
Our rate did not include parking (extra 15 Euro per night), wifi, breakfast or airport shuttle. I think the breakfast was 21.50 Euro per person and the shuttle 5 Euro per person but they also offered packages that include breakfast, shuttle and wifi which would lower the cost of those extras.
We had a car and did not use the shuttle and we left so early we didn’t have breakfast either so no comment on that.
The area around the hotel is pretty, with lots of trees. It felt very safe. The room was very quiet. But given the fact that it is so close to the airport there was probably no place for breakfast or dinner in close proximity, other than the hotel restaurant.
The hotel is not directly at the airport but ~15min driving from the airport. That was not an issue for us but is good to know.

Vom Flughafen gelangt man mit dem hoteleigenen Shuttle-​Service, im Stundentakt, zum Hotel.
Das Hotel liegt direkt an einer Schnellstraße, und wird nur durch den Hotelparkplatz von dieser getrennt. Im Haus selber hört man von der Straße aber nichts, so dass diese in einer Übernachtungsplanung zu vernachlässigen ist.
Der rückwärtige Bereich liegt im Grünen und nur unweit befindet sich ein großer See.
Das Hotel ansich ist gepflegt. Das Einchecken verlief schnell und freundlich.
Im Eingangsbereich gibt es ein kostenfreies W-​Lan. Ist man hierüber verbunden und hält die Verbindung bis ins Zimmer, kann man auch dort kostenfreies Internet.
Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig. Zwei Queen-​Size Betten, ein LCD-​TV, eine kleine Sitzguppe und viel Stauraum für Koffer und Kleidung.
Das Badezimmer ist für ein Hotel wirklich groß. Es gibt nicht nur eine Badewanne, sondern auch noch eine separate Dusche.
Das Frühstücks-​Buffet ist in der Woche von 6 – 10 Uhr geöffnet und am Wochenende von 6:30 — 10:30 Uhr. Gerade am Wochenende endet das Frühstück, für meine Begriffe, etwas zu früh. Da wäre 11 Uhr schon besser, gerade auch im Hinblick, das man erst um 12 Uhr auschecken muss.
Das Buffet ansich ist gut sortiert und man findet alles, was man von großen Hotelketten gewöhnt ist.
Anstatt Pancakes gibt es im Courtyard die kleinen Poffertjes. Super lecker, aber leider auch andauernd weg. Hier hätte die Versorgung durch die Küche etwas schneller funktionieren können! :))
Als Fazit kann man sagen, das man im Courtyard by Marriott entspannt ein paar Nächte verbringen kann. Als Ausgangspunkt für Amsterdam-​Touren ist dieses, aufgrund der Entfernung zur Stadt, nur bedingt zu empfehlen, außer man hat ein Auto zur Verfügung.

Rarely write reviews for hotels but this place is clean, beautiful, and operational. The buffet breakfasts were excellent. The staff was fantastic and all the amenities were provided without exception. They are on the grounds of a park so if you run, bike or walk you will be in for a treat.
My package came with free WIFI and breakfast. I strongly suggest you get that if you plan on using WIFI because it works very well.
They have free shuttles to a from the airport. The airport has trains to center city so it is easy.

I stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Amsterdam Airport when I have meetings at Schiphol. While it is named ‘Amsterdam Airport’ it is not right at the airport. It takes around 15 minutes by shuttle bus or car to get to the hotel but on the other hand it is a very quiet location to be in the airport area. The hotel is surrounded by a park which is nice for running or cycling (there are bikes to borrow at the hotel).
The services has always been very good and the staff are always friendly, helpful and service minded.
Last time I was there I actually got one of the penthouse suites. A very nice room with a jacuzzi, balcony and stunning views over the park (corner room at the top floor).
The bed was very comfortable and there was also a nice big desk which made working easy. My room rate included Internet access, otherwise that is something that is charged separately — Marriott should seriously consider including it in the room rate since it is really annoying paying extra for such a thing.
The bathroom was really nice with the jacuzzi and separate shower. The balcony was outside the bathroom. Did not really feel like going out there but it was still nice to have. The toilet was in a separate room from the bathroom which is also convenient.
The room was equipped with the standard amenities such as TV, iron, ironing board, water kettle and fridge.
The hotel also has a fitness centre that can be used free of charge and I have also seen a swimming pool outside (never used it),
There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel building with pretty decent food and then there are a couple of restaurants in the buildings surrounding the hotel. I also believe there is bowling facility.
The breakfast is definitely above average with both hot and cold dishes that feel fresh and where things that should be hot are hot and the other way around.
