Food was good but unlike others, felt unwelcome. The pompous head waiter would not get a job in a to rated Italian restaurant. He wants to impress you in Italian, who cares, speak Dutch if guests are Dutch, and So on. Not impressed. Never even asked how we liked the food. Would not recommend.

One of my favourite Italian restaurants. They have an amazing chefs special for an affordable price. Very tasty and exclusive recipes with seasonal ingredients.
Good atmosphere for intimate dining.
Very professional staff who knows their wines and take time to talk a little bit to you to make you feel welcome.

If you want to go for authentic Italian food in Haarlem, this is the place to go!
Together with my wife have been here quite a couple of times and every time really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The cook is Italian and at least one of the waiters is Italian. After we told this waiter we were planning a city trip somewhere in Italy, he even provided us with some dishes we should try in the area we were planning to visit.
I do agree with the review of John, stating that the layout of the tables has something to be desired… One time when we visited we were basically put next to the toilets. Fortunately, our waitress that evening quickly relocated us after we told her we did not like our seats.
One of the dishes they used to have on the menu was pasta al vongole, which my wife really likes. Unfortunately, this dish was removed from their standard menu. when talking to the chef, my wife told him that she really missed that and he answered that next time we would reserve a table, we just had to tell him about the vongole and he would ensure it would be present.
The next time we booked we did mention the vongole and sure enough, the next day they had pasta al vongole for my wife! They even had a second waiter coming to our table after the first waitress had explained the menu to double-​check whether we were told that the pasta al vongole was available for ordering this evening.
So not only great food at this place, but I also like their service a lot!

Nice food but the layout of the tables has something to be desired. The table by the door and next to the cash desk are significantly worse from a location perspective and should be avoided. I was disappointed that even though we had booked, we were allocated the worst table in the restaurant. And required some insistence to get moved. The general décor looks thirty years old.
