Booked with trivia go. Pictures looks posh as hell and on arrival the place looked amazing inside… Until the woman guided us through the hotel, out a back door, past all of the bins, through a little door in a wooden fence and into what looked to be staff accommodation. She wouldn’t even come upstairs with us and just pointed as if the place was haunted and she was scared. Went into the room and I nearly lost my life. The room was absolutely filthy dirty. Dirt and some kid of liquid sprayed up the walls. The sheets where dirty. Floor was filthy. The Windows wouldn’t close and it was winter. The bathroom… I couldn’t even go into it. Mould everywhere. It’s even shocking thinking back now… It was absolutely disgusting. You wouldn’t have expected a dog to sleep in it.

This is apparently a very well known café in Groningen. I have never heard of it. but it doesnt make any difference. in the end. The café /bar has a great décor and it is pretty big… so if you cannot find any table in the front. check the back of the café. there are plenty of tables. Service can be slow sometimes.

College hang out near a square i downtown, great for sitting outside in nice weather, the inside has some cool cozy seating, but the menu is largely uninspired pub food

Okay, this place is HUGE. It could probably service all of Groningen in a day if it had to. You walk in, you keep walking and you keep walking and you keep walking… you get it. It’s huge. I had all day drinks and snacks here. Nothing special here in the food department — but it’s okay for snacks. For drinks and atmosphere, it’s busy and huge so it’s an easy choice if you just don’t want to put too much thought into where you’re going. Bonus: walls with books and super high ceilings.

A very student-y place. The food is decent, and the beers are cheap, but it’s always crowded and feels like every underage bar I used to frequent in the U.S., except that it’s legal to drink at 18 here. If you want to watch the(American) football game or something, it’s perfect.

it’s 4 am, you’re totally drunk but feel you have not quite had enough. come on in. this piss trench of a basement is opent late, has a revolving bar(just what you need, a spinning bar) smells horrendous and is full of people just like you(state of dankness that is). if you’ve come here and have stayed more than five minutes you may even be able to pick up someone or an STD or both. not worth checking out but if you must make sure you’re drunk before you go in
