We returned to this Mexican restaurant 23 years after our first visit and it is every bit as good as it was back in the day. It is under new-​ish ownership (I thinks the cook and a waiter bought it from the original owner about 10 years ago) but it is still excellent. They took our very specific requests (we’re from California, after all!) with good humor.
The salsa is particularly good. It is made in-​house, as are the guac and chips. Margs were tasty. Mole sauce — excellent. All enchiladas great too.
Very friendly service. A great evening. Visit this place if you need a Mexican fix.

Who knew I would find good Mexican food in Gouda, of all places?! But, yes, I did!
Xochimilco is a great restaurant in a wonderful historic city. I am not sure if it’s authentic, but it’s pretty darn delicious. They have vegetarian options, the service comes with a smile, and the price is right. What’s there to not be a fan of?
After you’re done eating your main course, get the great merenguada flambé!
