Queen’s hotel restaurant had tender beef tips wrapped in a warm tortilla for a European taco worth trying! The quality of this fusion dish was well above the standards for tacos. Fresh ingredients and a luscious environment brought the experience to a pinnacle respecting the trite dish re-invented with Dutch style. There were plenty of other choices and no doubt more surprises in the extensive menu!

A perfectly respectable hotel in a pedestrian mall, a short(but not tiny) walk from the train station. Wi-fi is reasonable but not stellar; the shower’s a bit small, but does a good job of keeping the water contained(which is often the failure mode at this sort of hotel). Our view included some flat rooftop and some somewhat more picturesque buildings, but just the peak of the ornate church a block away. The breakfast is a little weak — smaller-than-usual selection of breads and cheeses, and somewhat pointed questioning about our room number. Overall, a fine base of operations but not a destination.

It’s a bit expensive, but as an American traveling in Holland I really appreciate that they have English menus and serve ketchup with the fries if you ask for it. I had a 3 course dinner tonight for 17.50(Euros). I had French onion soup, mozzarella chicken, and fruit salad, everything was very good. Heated and covered outdoor seating as well.

I LOVE this hotel. The only reason I gave it four stars is because their restaurant food is not that good and highly overpriced. The whole staff spoke good English. The room we had was AMAZING. It had a min fridge with cold drinks. It has a high ceiling vaulted with colored flashing lights if we wanted. IT has a sofa and chair with nice fur rugs(and leather sofa as well), and nicely hand carved end tables. IT had a huge garden tub and separate shower with a separate toilet room. If you want the nicest room in Eindhoven, ask for the Royal Suite. The view was spectacular. I could see the ice skating rink and X-mas fair from the window. Ok it was a bit loud late at night but you gotta figure with it being so centrally located it can’t be quiet. So if you stay there, take your ear-plus.

Queen occupies a large space near the station and part of a hotel of the same name. A big draw is the outdoor seating. The atmosphere inside is that of a classic café with lots of well-worn wooden tables and heavy chairs. The menu is also classic café with an international touch(lasagna, wraps, burgers, sate, steaks and fish). I tried the Dutch steak with stroganoff sauce which was quite good, and for about 16 euros, it included a small salad as well as fries, so it’s a good value. Servers are busy but efficient and overall, a nice spot for a drink or a meal.

Rush hour service on a sunny Saturday afternoon on the outside terrace was A-ok. Order taken whiten 3 minutes and drinks served 5 minutes later.

We stayed here two nights during our visit to the Netherlands, and we chose this hotel because it is smack in the middle of the Market Square in Downtown Eindhoven. Our room had a bit of a strange shape, on the side of the building. It was a long and narrow room, but it had plenty of space for a desk and couch in the front, and the bed and storage cabinets in the back. The room was clean with plenty of storage space, and the furniture was modern/elegant. The bathroom was small but clean and functional, with a large tub, that unfortunately took 45 minutes to fill up. Europeans take water preservation very seriously, and that is a good thing, but the water pressure in this hotel was definitely on the low side. I just wanted to take a nice warm soak after a freezing cold day, but I had to wait for a very long time until my bath was ready! The bed was a bit too soft for us, and the pillows were very thick. I woke up with a painful neck. But this might be a very personal thing; I know that others enjoy soft beds. Breakfast was included, and was served downstairs in the bar area. It had a good selection of scrambled eggs, bacon, boil-it-yourself-eggs, fresh breads, yogurt, cereal, and fruits. Internet access(wireless) was included as well. We had to obtain a different access code for each device(laptop as well as phones) but everything worked flawlessly.
