Tikibar Vavoom

Let me set the stage. The curtain opens. It is a warmish Saturday evening in early April. The music is great, the décor is tiki, the drinks are good. Three friends are sitting around a table chatting, having a great time. One of them leaves to go to the restroom. Our play begins
(Two friends chatting indistinctly, both sipping on their drinks. The bar back approaches. Bar back without checking to see if the girl is finished with her drink picks up the napkin which was sitting on the table, crumples it up, throws it in the glass)
The Girl: Excuse me. I wasn’t finished with that
The Bar Back silently, reaches into the glass, removes the napkin and sets the drink in front of the girl again.
The Girl, staring at the bar back in disbelief: Well I am not going to finish it now.
Bar back grunts, picks up the absent friend’s drink, which still has about a ¹⁄₃ of her drink in it, and walks off before either of the two can say anything.
Curtain falls.
Waiting to see if the revival of the play warrants a better review.

Located at the Hipster Bar Square of Den Haag (I named it). Awesome patio with beautifully color coordinated parsols through out all of the bars, and of course heaters! This place have great cocktails but is SUPER busy at weekend nights. A little to busy for me, but hey, what don’t you do for a Pitcher Mojito (even my mother in law caved)? The interior is Hawaii Beach (I think) and it looks like a shady beach bar in all ways counting. You usually have to wait 30 minutes for your turn at the weekends so send the ones not wearing heals! On the positive, the bartender do know how to put on a show so the 30 minutes does tick by fairly quick!

Ce bar est très sympa. Je l’ai découvert lors de mon voyage à La Haye et je l’ai trouvé vraiment bien.
Déjà la localisation est géniale. Ils sont sur la Grand Place entourés de plein d’autres cafés ce qui crée une terrasse géante où tous les clients se mélangent.
Ensuite parlons du bar en lui même ! Ici, on né rigole pas avec les cocktails. Allez passer commande, vous verrez vous allez être impressionnés ! Ils ont un équipement de fou et ils vont à une vitesse incroyable !
Bref, un service de qualité, un endroit charmant et beau,… Un seul conseil: passez par la Grand Place de La Haye la prochaine fois !

The drinks are strong. You’ve been warned!

Oh… How I wish I’d stayed longer in there !!! The cool waiter alone is enough for me to get back there one day, and keep trying some cocktails. They should get a broader selection of Belgian beers though, in order to really get in Delirium in that funky décor!

Located on the Grotemarkt in teh city center, probably the best place to go in town for a relaxed drink with down to earth people.
The vavoom is one of my favorite as it’s probably the only place in the Hague where the cocktails are good. They specialize on rhum based cocktails, and they definitely know how to do them.
Nice tropical atmosphere inside.
