Im typischen französischen Stil gehalten. Auch die Speisekarte. Und es gibt tägliche Specials. Große Auswahl an Weinen. Das Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt, ich gehe wieder hin.

Another fantastic dinner at Pastis: delicious food always made with fresh, seasonal ingredients full of flavor, courteous and warm service, but it is the cozy and lively atmosphere that sets this place apart. This time I went for a steaming pile of moules-frites: small juicy moules that melt in your mouth steamed open in a delicate broth, served with a tender delicious salad and perfectly crispy frites. I closed the meal in glory with a crème brûlée to die for. We left with a big smile on our face and on our way out we made a reservation for two days later.

Came here on a whim after seeing it plugged on the website of a local shop, and very glad we did. We’d had a long day at the Keukenhof and in Leiden’s Hortus Botanicus, so I wasn’t in the mood for anything too fancy, but still wanted someplace nice. Pastis fit the bill perfectly. My uncle and I both had the day’s featured white wine, and while we waited for our meals, we nibbled on their delicious baguette with beurre fleur de sel. The bread truly tasted like what I’ve eaten in Paris and Provence. My uncle ordered the poisson du jour(daily fish special), while I had the limande-sole meunière; he said his dish was delicious, and I thorougly enjoyed mine too, especially after a deboning lesson by our server(who I suspect was also the owner, or at least the manager). But the highlight for me was the dessert, a throroughly delicious tarte au citron that was tangy and creamy, with a wonderful, slightly spicy crust, served with a berry coulis. The service was attentive without being overly solicitous, and the atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. I am only witholding one star due to the noise level as the restaurant filled up, which is a natural consquence of the tile floor, I’m sure. Can’t really be helped, but it does make it a little more difficult to hold a conversation as the wine flows. Recommended!

This place! I mean it! It’s wonderful! The décor is truly(in my Scandinavian expert opinion) french and it’s just SO cosy. The staff is nice and the food is good. Especially the french fries(I don’t even eat potatoes since I’m a Low Carb: er but I simply could not help myself). Plus is that you can order Low Carb sides(not that I needed it at this occasion). Creative menu and overall a really nice place! An oh, great champagne as well(told you, truly French!).

We arrived to this restaurant really late(after 10:30PM), this is why we were immediately told that we could only have a main course(which was ok). The lady serving us was really friendly and smiling. Even if maybe she has to learn a little bit more the waiter skills, she tried to make a small talking and she was nice on that. We had only a small bottle of wine, a main course and an amaro. My fiancée really enjoyed her steak with thick fries and béarnaise. My Moules Frites was ok even if the mussels were not the more tasteful I ever had. A funny moment was when I asked two Amaro Averna: the lady did not know it and when I showed her I realized that the bottle was at the end and this is why it was tasting more as alcohol than as Amaro Averna

We’ve been here a few times, and I’m still not convinced(I’m not the one choosing this place when we go there ;-)) The food is good, real decent and tasty French specialities, cooked as required… But I still struggle with service and have never been able to pardon one very very bad time… So in all honesty, it’s a good place to go where you’ll leave the place with a full stomach and a good taste :-)
