It Rains Fishes

Köstliches Schollenfilet mit Vanillesauce, danach Oliveneis mit Zitrusvariationen. Fantastisch!

I choose to skip my scheduled conference dinner and wander the city a bit. There are a lot of restaurants and shopping in the area. Since I was by myself I had decided to eat at a bar. This place has a small bar that you can see from the front. It was nice looking, it had sea food, and it was close to my hotel. Done. I sat down and ordered a drink while perusing the menu. There was a slight delay in getting my drink — they had to borrow a bottle from next door. The bartender was very helpful in describing the menu, and I choose to have the three course menu — traditional dutch asparagus, shrimp in kimchee, and sea breem. The food was cooked just right — temperature and flavors were very good.

Excellent fish restaurant in The Hague. Complementary soup appetizer started the meal. My friend had the steak tartar — prepared at the table. I had the scallop/​blackpudding starter and the lemon sole. I finished with the cheese plate — letting the very cheery waiter select them. The staff were excellent all round.
