My last experience at a Mexican restaurant in the NL left a lot to be desired, so my expectations for Pssst Amigo were tempered. When we arrived at the restaurant I liked the style immediately. It wasn’t over the top with cheesy décor, but subtle and thoughtful. It was busy when we arrived as it was prime time on a Friday night, so we sat at the bar and had some drinks. I had the Mexican Mojito, which replaced the rum in the standard drink with tequila. It was strong and delightful. I may have had two, they were so good I don’t remember. I also had some of their house margarita and it was also a solid well-made drink. I didn’t have a full meal here, but did try a few of their appetizers. I tried the guacamole which was flavorful, though a little too smooth as if blended. I also had the tortilla soup which was definitely a hit. Next time I’m craving Mexican food, or something close enough to it, I’ll be sure to give Pssst Amigo another shot.
