Charming décor with great food. Café de Walvis is excellent for coffee, breakfast or lunch. Perfect spot to laptop for a few hours, too. The service is admittedly slow, so know to go to the front counter if you need anything, but … the staff is as friendly as the place is terrific.

Service is bad enough that it outweighs anything positive about this place — like the fact that it’s about one minute from me. For example I’ve come here for dinner and had to leave because no one served us, waiting for at least 20 minutes in a mostly empty restaurant. They also get our beer orders wrong about half the time. Food is OK. Maybe I’ll be back for a beer on a sunny day if there is nothing else open nearby.
Just try a little, guys.

Very nice sandwich. Organic, green and fresh all you need for a brunch. The stuff are sweet girls. OJ is just coming out from the blender. The coffee can be improved though. Overall Lekker!!! Will go there at least twice a month.

I liked this place, we had no trouble with the service and the food (yes, its true the menu is small) was very nice… GREAT veggie burger. It is clearly a hip locals place to go. My only complaint is that it is loud when it is crowded! For sure good beers, though. Was glad to see some special editions of Dutch microbrews.

Very nice and casual atmosphere with attention to detail. The high ceilings are nice in the open space and there is a more intimate area as a halflevel above the bar. We came for a coffee and ended up staying for lunch– Good price for the sandwiches as well (5,50−7,00).

Very cosy place with a lot of potential and good beers. However the menu and the service is a letdown. Let’s just say it’s very Dutch. Uninspiring borrell menu and although the staff is sweet, things take forever here. :/
