Universal Nails

I came here once in the past and to be honest, I was not happy with my pedicure. I was disappointed with the pedicure, it lasted only for a week. So this time I decided to give them a second chance and try their Shellack nail polish, which can last 14+ days. I was very happy with the results of my pedicure here. They were fast and efficient, much better then the last pedicure i had done in Belgium.
I was also so happy to see a nail shop that had a foot spa, although I have become more cautious with using them, because they can transfer foot infections, if they are not properly clean or maintained well. A foot spa should be disinfected, between each customer, in order to reduce any potential foot or leg infections. So ladies make sure that you are holding these businesses accountable. I am so looking forward to another pedicure, at some point since i have been on bed rest from my surgery. Ladies also keep in mind that they only accept cash! No pin or credit card. Also they charge 5 euros extra to take off your nail polish. Enjoy!

I want to give this 4 stars because I will most likely be back despite the lackluster experience. But here’s how things went wrong:
1. I made an appointment but they still took walk-​ins before me. I waited 30 minutes then sat in the pedicure chair soaking my feet for another 30 minutes. I was in the salon for 2h 15m total for a pedicure and manicure!
2. The pedicure was no base coat or top coat just two coats of polish. After 3 days it’s already started chipping.
3. To clean instruments they quickly sprayed it with alcohol instead of giving it a good soak.
On the plus side:
1. The massage chair was very comfortable. So the 30 minute wait wasn’t so bad.
2. The pedicure was very thorough in terms of sanding down any calluses.
3. For 20E you can get a shellac polish — not a full manicure. They push back your cuticles and apply the shellac. I will be back for this.
4. This location seems much cleaner and less hectic than the Kinkerstraat location.
