Def worth checking out if you are about Amsterdam. One of the few festivals a year which is able to use this space out front of the Museumplein.
This festival marks the start of the theatre season, with many theatres showing what they have coming up this season.
They have a big skate competition with many international skaters.
Various stages with both musical and theatre performances.
A variety of food was available along with wine, beer and cocktails.
Another great free event held in Amsterdam and perfect place to have a wander around.

Uitmarkt equals new publications, books, music on several stages, food vendors, beer and lots of revelers. All of this occurs on Museumplein for three nights and two days and is another festival among many.

This is a very fun 3 day event in Amsterdam and free! I believe it was hosted at more than one location but I only attended at Museumplein. This event had a lot of different things going on… a skate park with competitions and t-​shirt giveaways, theatre and cultural tasters including a song from Pippin on the Friday night, karaōke, tons of food trucks and a 360 degree, 24hour light-​changing exhibition of a Mesdag masterpiece. I admit I didn’t see all this event had to offer as there was so much!
I liked the school buses which served fruitful mojitos, non-​alcoholic milkshakes and prosecco based scroppinos (I’d never had this before and it was delicious!). You could get cold draft 0.5 litre Heineken for € 4.50 which was great as it was a glorious warm weekend. The food on offer included Turkish pizza kebabs which I enjoyed, there were very good looking burgers, frites, yummy poffertjes, Asian food and more. There were also three stages of acts. We enjoyed a variety of modern interruptive dance, beautiful classical tango music, a great young band called Holiday (see photo comment), a fun rap and drum-​and-​bass act, Kenny B, funk bands, big bands and more. This was a family friendly event I would gladly pop along to again if still local :)

Wonderful, fabulous, amazing!!! Uitmarkt is such a wonderful event at Museumplein that runs for days. Tons of entertainment, beer, wine, desserts and tons of food. This is a must do if you’re in Amsterdam at the end of Aug to early Sept.

As every year… a great Amsterdam tradition.
This time we were spared from the rain until 23.40 :) If you are in Amsterdam during this weekend you can’t miss it!!!
