True hidden gem underneath Amsterdam’s New Church and may be one of Amsterdam’s best kept secrets. Just walk into Melly’s Cookie Bar and follow the signs to the wine cellar where you will find wine importer and producer Jose Belgerette. All wines available are organic and from small bodegas in Argentina and Chile. Jose can talk for hours about Argentia, grapes, wines, etc. But best is that you just ask him for a winetasting of his own wines Dos por Cuatro and Solandes; from Torrontes to Malbec !!!

We are from Virginia which is growing in wine popularity so we’ve been to our fair share of wineries and wine stores. This place is not like anywhere we’ve been before. It’s underneath Melly’s Cookie Bar (
), meaning you go INTO the Cookie Bar to get to it. But once downstairs you are in a whole different world of coziness and wine with a man (José) who knows his stuff! He is super friendly, but professional and helpful and just wants to find you a wine you will love! I dare you to go here and not love it! I’m taking everyone who visits me here because it is that awesome.
