Locality to me: 5* Opening hours: 5* Business professionalism including facilities: 4* General customer service: 4* Therapist technique: 5* — Alex Pain factor avoidance: 4.5* Attention to detail: 4* Finished result: 4* Price: 4* Hypoallergenic wax and light: 5* I’m a regular at the Wax Bar Amsterdam. The location is convenient for me as are the hours that the salon is open. I also like that you are offered at coffee or tea while you wait and that the salon gives before and after care advice as well as sell tea tree products. I had a nice a espresso and sat at the literal bar I guess the place is named after.(Don’t panic people, everything is done behind closed doors!) They also have a TV on the ceiling for something to stare at for any awkward moments and they use hypo-allergenic wax. They use a light and mirror for better finish too.

I really like the professionality of this wax-bar. They have a tv placed on top of the ceiling, so any ‘akward’ moment during waxing can be diverted by looking to a classic films or other screening. I’ve had beautician training in the past so I can tell they do a good job in waxing: fast, tightening the skin for minimal pain, and a hairless result.

The Wax Bar charges a bit more than the random ‘beautician’ around the corner, but believe me when I say it’s more than worth it. At every location I’ve been to(Den Haag and Amsterdam) they have excellent, friendly, and efficient staff, spotless facilities, and I’m always 100% sure that I’ll get the results I want in minimal time. I’ve been to a lot of bad places in Amsterdam as well… and I’m not sure I’ll go anywhere other than the Wax Bar again! Protip: if you book through Treatwell, sometimes they send you discount coupons :)
