Amsterdam’s great kosher deli. Try the corned beef or liver sandwiches. Excellent rolls and bread. Two blocks from the Hotel Okura and away from the tourist traps downtown. Sal is a constant welcoming presence and will help you navigate the menu. No triple deckers nor pickle tray but great smoked meats expertly prepared. Should be patronized by more Americans and is worth a trip from anywhere in Amsterdam. Reasonable prices and fast service.

We were visiting Amsterdam with friends. We asked them to recommend a typical kosher restaurant to which locals would go. They gave us the name and address of this deli. The entrance was fairly plain, as was the décor. Most of the tables were occupied on a Sunday during the early afternoon. We started with soup which were tasty and a decent size. They brought some delicious pickled onions. We asked what was their speciality. Apparently the kosher polony and some of the cold cuts are prepared specially for this deli. The meat sandwiches were a treat! On a further recommendation, we had the ginger filled cookies. Awesome. Lastly we indulged in a cup of coffee. This place is certainly not advertised as a coffee shop, so we were surprised at the superb cup of coffee we received. Add to all of this the very reasonable prices. If we return to Amsterdam soon, we will definitely return.
