Salon B

I was late to my appointment at the Gravenstraat location, and the staff was more than happy to accommodate me. I had a massage with Marie, and everything was lovely. She worked on my rough spots, took her time, and told me how to help relieve the tension I may have in the future. She offered me tea at the end and let me stay as long as I needed to relax. Definitely would recommend :)

This review is actually for the one in the centre of Amsterdam. Of all the Dutch hairdresser’s I’ve tried, I consider Aret to be the best in creating volume without sacrificing on length. He has this special technique that actually works on blunt, straight hair. He has also been such a great sport in giving me instructions of how to tease hair in a gentle way, and that was the week after I had my cut.

After seeing all of the great reviews for this place, I thought I’d send my husband here before I booked an appointment for myself (and no, we DO NOT have the same hair style lol). His hair cut was ok and there were no huge issues but we expected more for the price. To begin with, his stylist checked him in but he did not receive a warm greeting. It was literally the fastest cut he has ever received (if you are from the U.S., think Super Cuts fast), which is where I think that there was really a lack in concern for detail. He was also given a dirty, hairy smock to wear :(Anyways, we both agreed that it was what we would have expected of a 20 Euro haircut, not a 12 minute 47 Euro (with tip) haircut — and we previously went to Toni & Guy so we are used to paying a premium for haircuts.

This review is for Faye. I love her. She is the best person in Amsterdam who can do your hair– cut, highlights, everything. My hairdresser in the states is A+… and I did not think it was possible to find someone here after searching for over a year. Well, look no further. Faye is the answer to my prayers.
Thank goodness for her ability to get the perfect cut and color on your hair! :) I can’t wait to go back! I paid 150 eur for Full highlights, cut, toner, blow dry, which I think is reasonable. :) Thanks Faye, and Salon B!!!

great service! also quite affordable. my stylist was super fast but also pleasant. She performed an extra-​long wash. the wash area is dark and serene. the seat is a black leather recliner and there are glitz hanging from above. i was glad to have chosen this place. thanks Salon B and thanks Unilocalers for directing me it.

I used to get $ 15 haircuts at the Haircuttery when I lived in Washinton DC, and when I lived in Barcelona, the nice little chica across from my piso gave me a beautiful cut and blow out for around € 20.
I’m much more weary in Holland, for some reason, but after reading several reviews for the Salon B in Haarlem (where I was living at that time) I scheduled an appointment. While the stylist didn’t speak English and I didn’t speak Dutch, I must have misunderstood what I was getting myself into because my bill was much higher than I anticipated. Apparently I agreed to have some kind of shine treatment done for another € 40 on top of my color and cut. I wasn’t terribly impressed.
When I moved to Amsterdam, I made an appointment for the Centrum location, and was very pleased with Fleur, my stylist. She knew exactly what I wanted with the cut and color. I was in and out in about an hour and a half, and at € 100, I was mostly satisfied.
When I got home, I noticed I still had a few grey hairs peering around my face, and for that price, I think I’ll be shopping around again.

Emke cut my hair, and I did not have a so nice hair cut since I left Paris. She spent a few minutes to understand what I wanted… and she completely did

I have naturally curly hair and am EXTREMELY picky about stylists. Well, Tamara at Salon B is just amazing. She really knows what she is doing. I don’t think my hair has ever looked better since I started seeing her. Plus, she is super friendly and down to earth, and always listens when I have ideas or comments. Go to Salon B and ask for Tamara!
