Great pizzas for a democratic price, 4 glasses of wine, 2 plates of dinner and 2 desserts only costed us € 45 and we were more than satisfied with the food. The staff was friendly and willing to help when asked. Cosy décor aswell with available window seating or even outdoor.

I love this place. Pizza is one of the easiest things to make, but there are a million ways you can mess it up. Luckily, Piccolino knows how to avoid them all.
This is my guilty pleasure… living and working close to the Liedspeplein means that I am nearby whenever I want to get quick grub. This place has never disappointed. The staff is friendly, and you’re sure to indulge in some interesting conversations and good times over a glass of nice port and succulent pizza.

Da unser Hostel in der Nähe des Leidseplein lag, haben wir uns fürs Abendessen natürlich zunächst mal in der direkten Umgebung umgeschaut. Etliche Steakhäuser, Italiener, und auch ein Grieche und ein oder zwei Asiaten waren dabei. Letztlich hat uns dann das Äußere des Piccolino am meisten zugesagt und wir hatten auch das Glück, einen Tisch im Erdgeschoss (und nicht im Keller wie die Gäste nach uns) zu bekommen.
Auch wenn — wie bei so einigen Kneipen in dem Viertel — vor der Tür ein großes Schild steht, dass Hauptgerichte ab 5 Euro zu haben seien, gibts dafür gerade mal einen Teller Spaghetti mit Tomatensoße. Wir haben uns stattdessen zwei Pizzen und einen gemischten Salat bestellt, die durchaus lecker, aber auch tendenziell eher im gehobeneren Preissegment angesiedelt waren: Allein für die Pizza mit Schinken und Pilzen mussten wir knapp 10 Euro hinlegen.
Die Atmosphäre war gemütlich und die Bedienungen flott und stets zur Stelle. Durchaus einen Besuch wert…

A deceptively nice Italian restaurant, considering the relatively tourist-​driven establishments in the area.
The menu is varied, with a large selection of pizza and pasta dishes. The pizza dough is made freshly before your very eyes, and the toppings are delicious. Definitely some of the best pizza I’ve had the good fortune to eat, and I’ve eaten a lot of pizza.
There isn’t a smoking and non-​smoking section which is a shame, though that’s my British sensibilities talking.
Price wise, expect to pay around EUR6−8 for a pizza and EUR5 for a pint of beer.
