Pretty good Spanish food in Amsterdam, I have bravas, tortilla, jamon serrano, meatballs, alioli, good. Of course not as good as being in ESP but pretty close. The cooks are spanish and they hit the mark. I asked them about the tortilla and they were great at telling me the how and what. If you can’t make it to Spain, come here. Its good.

So before I get into the details, let me just put it out there that this is a great place with good food– three stars for me coz I know there are places with better tapas in Amsterdam. Okay, so getting into the details — The ambience is very lovely, cozy and pretty. The place gets real busy over the weekends so making a reservation is a good idea. It’s lively but not noisy so good place for a date or catch up with friends. It’s quite casual, laid back — so don’t worry about the rest of it. Now getting down to the drinks– luvvhhhddd the kava sangria… We ended up having more than two pitchers! And finally the food — we tried the bruschetta which was good but a little soggy. The octopus tapas was great but lacked a little seasoning — delicious regardless. We also tried the special tomato salad which was fresh and lovely. And finally, we tried the fried sardines — super crunchy — hands down the winner of the evening… The food somehow I like at duende more — it’s spot on but the ambience is not very cozy there. Would I go here again? Sure. Overall it’s a good experience.

Really nice atmosphere and great food. Some dishes were better than others, especially liked the eggplant and courgette with honey and the goats cheese thingies but octopus in the middle of winter maybe not the best choice. But overall a very positive experience!

Sangria was good to me. We went with some coworkers here in the area. Crowded place. Excellent service. A little different to my palate but was told it was the real thing. It was just ok to me, but my tastes are a bit americanized. Nice to try something different.

As far as Amsterdam goes I feel this was a solid four stars. Now Spanish tapas versus anywhere else is different of course but this was a good compromise. We came in with a massive group and the staff was more than happy to help us out and cater to our needs. Getting a refill on our drinks was the only thing which took time but it wasn’t unreasonable. The top is themselves were surprisingly quick to the table. As for the tapas, just about everything was tasty. For vegetarian stuff the green peppers were great as usual, but make sure to put salt on them. The tomatoes are also really tasty and patatas brava of course. The mushrooms were a little ordinary though. The paella looked really good and tasted so according to others even though I didn’t try it. Will certainly go back with a smaller group to try out other dishes.

Brilliant !! Excellent flavors and dishes. From the olives to the tortilla everything was very good and a great value. Very friendly fun atmosphere! seemed pretty authentic but I’m no expert. Check it out for yourself.

We went here with a group on a Friday night. It was pretty crowded and we came with no reservation but luckily there were still a few tables in the back(also because we arrived pretty late, around 9.). This place is really cozy. It reminds me of Pata Negra, with the tiles on the wall and being so dark. The service was fast here. The friendly waitress came quickly to ask us if we wanted drinks and also came quickly when we wanted to order the food. The food also arrived fast, There were plenty of choices on the menu. Fish, meat or vegetarian. All good. We tried a few different things like grilled sardines, patatas bravas, lamb chops, olives, stuffed eggs, chicken, gamba’s pil pil. Everything was so yummy! This place really knows quality. I loved it, especially the lamb chops and the gamba’s. Everything was for a fair price as well. If you order 2 dishes a person with your party(dishes will be like 6,50) and start of with some bread and olives, have about 2 drink it will cost you like like 22 each. Not much! I will certainly come back and try more veggie dishes next time because they looked great as well.

In addition to other reviews: it’s good, but not excellent. We had to wait for two of the five tapas dishes for very long, while it wasn’t busy at all.

Tapas! There are a few tapas restaurants in the Jordaan but this was the only one I was lucky enough to try. I visited here twice, once on a busy Saturday night, the second time on a quieter Sunday night. The tapas were excellent both times and the Sangria is really, really good. The shrimp with garlic is my favorite with the tortilla running a close second. The sauces for some of the dishees make the meal — the one that’s on the fried potatoes is very good too. Go with friends so you can get lots of dishes to share!
