We were very much looking forward to trying this place (Greek food is the best!). Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. We made a reservation here (through Unilocal) and arrived a few minutes early, and nearly 40 minutes after our reservation time, we still were not seated and decided to leave. In many places around the world, this happens from time to time, but in The Netherlands, when one makes a reservation, the restaurant almost always informs the party for how long they will have the table (so they can plan accordingly and depart before the next reservation arrives) and may even stop serving the table once the table’s time has expired (this happened to us and a large group of friends at another restaurant). Given that, I expected much more from this restaurant.
On the positive side, the employees seemed quite friendly (albeit in the weeds /​overwhelmed).

Good food, good portions and good service. We sat outside and were served quickly by a very nice waitress who checked on us often. The food we ordered was really good and they have a number of options for vegetarians if that’s important to you (my wife is vegetarian and picky at that — she was very happy with her selections). We had hummus, gigantes, patatas bravas orestsi’s con mojo picon and I had the datiles con bacon and chorizo frito. From what I’ve read in some other reviews the Spanish tapas are not truly authentic, though honestly I wouldn’t know. The chef would probably be inclined to call the menu creative. Regardless, I wasn’t looking for ‘authenticity’ — I was looking for tasty food and I got it. All items were delicious and prepared nicely and the servers were friendly. For me, that’s what counts. Overall a good experience and I will be returning for sure.

I thought this place was amazing, i tend to be a picky eater but even meats i wouldnt typically eat such as tuna and lamb were amazing. I really thought this place was friendly, inviting, and had a great atmosphere. If i was in amsterdam longer — i would come back.

I was so happy to find this charming restaurant after touring the Heineken Experience. It was raining and luckily this was just around the block from the brewery. After eating days worth of Dutch food, my husband and I were looking for a change. The tapas were all delicious, particularly the goat cheese, pata negra, and bacon wrapped figs. Our server was delightful and the manager/​owner very friendly and cordial. We dined at the highly touted Ciel Bleu while in Amsterdam, but still Oresti’s remained my favorite meal of our trip.

Went here with my girlfriend after being recommended to come here by a few locals we met.
Oresti’s Taverna has great food and even better sangria. Definitely better quality than your average tapas place outside of Spain and great mix of culinary styles. It is one of the better restaurants in Amsterdam and is the best international food I have eaten in the Netherlands.

Great food, great ambience and great neighborhood definitely worth checking out if you appreciate Mediterranean small plates and sharing. The service was awesome, a member of the family of owners, really insightful and helpful.
Awesome backyard patio (looks good for romance), lively interior (for groups) and chill outdoor tables (if you were with co-​worker like me) so a place for many occasions. It’s off of a side street, not a main drag people-​watching spot like many of the Amsterdam restaurants but definitely worth exploring a more local spot.

What a great place!
Restaurant is owned by a father and son team. Very friendly, they dont’ mind explaining things and offer suggestions. Price is ok. Food tastes AMAZING! They do really nice tapas! Please visit them if you go to Amsterdam — they are a short walk away from the new location of the Rembrandt museum. Lovely neighborhood.
They have a lovely patio for when the weather is warm.
