Na Siam

I can honestly say this is the best Thai I’ve had in Amsterdam. It compares nicely to my favorite spots in Arizona and SoCal.
The food is very fresh, flavorful and enjoyable. I made the mistake of asking a question about a dish I didn’t order and got it anyway. Be careful what you say and how you ask questions at any Dutch restaurant. This isn’t the first time it’s happened to me here.
I will say the Sweet and Sour Fish (not Thai) was very good (the item I didn’t want). So was a Thai Curry Beef Dish. It wasn’t hot but it had a lot of flavor. Have the Spring Rolls. They are very good. I did have the Sweet and Sour Chicken. The item I came here for. It’s was great. It couldn’t have been any better.
The service was good and the atmosphere is homey and inviting.
I will recommend it over some other spots within walking distance. This is a great choice.

I’m actually a super fan of this place. The food is 100% LEGIT and authentic. We spoke with the (very nice) host/​chef owners and the female in their partnership is Thai and responsible for the food. Her Kung Fu is good – all the dishes are pretty spot-​on. My wife and I went there twice during our time in Amsterdam – she loved her fried fish and I had a great spicy tofu once and a green curry (it was pretty spice and I’m down with that) on the second go-​around. Overall, definitely worth one of your Amsterdam meals.

Just 5 walking minutes from the tramstation Fredriksplein you’ll find a nice place to eat some thai menus with top-​quality meat. As well as the other ingredients of course! We were here on a friday evening at 9pm and there weren’t that many people.
The furnishing of the restaurant is held in wooden dark and is quite comfortable.
The service was perfect: friendly and attentive. The food tasted really well and the portions are, even if it doesn’t seem so at first look, enough. We had the red curry with beef, yellow curry with chicken and green curry with chicken and all of us were deeply contented.
Definitely to recommend if you wanna eat a tasty thai menu at a fair price!

Amazing Food. Great Owner. He gave us great recommendations on places to see in Amsterdam. I’m a real critic when it comes to Thai food and this place was amazing. Everything we ordered (bascially a lot of different curries) we couldn’t get enough of. My visitors of a week ate here 2 days in a row they loved it so much! We didn’t need a reservation which I loved. It’s in a cute little street. Cozy restaurant and you can sit outside.

Na Siam is a small restaurant, dimmed lights, wood counter, and warm service are the first impact to it. Then comes the food, really high quality, very close to the «real deal» that you can have in Thailand (I go there for business quite often).
A true gem, deserves the great reviews that it gets!

Setting is intimate. Staff is friendly. Food is well above average. Only demerits are in regard to the beer selection. It sucks. Highly recommend it though.

My co workers and I were all here from different countries for training. We all agreed to have Thai food for dinner. I found this place on Unilocal and we all loved it. The married couple who owns the place couldn’t be nicer. One of our co workers was Thai and she loved it. A place to check out here if you love Thai food

Wir waren nur 2 Abende in Amsterdam und beide Male waren wir in diesem tollen Thailändischen Restaurant essen — und wenn wir wieder in Ansterdam sind, kommen wir ganz sicher wieder hierher!
Das Essen ist unschlagbar lekker! Die Köchin (und gleichzeitig Eigentümerin) kommt aus Thailand, kocht seit über 25 Jahren in Amsterdam und zaubert fantastische Gerichte.
Vorweg gab es einen raffinierten «Gruß aus der Küche», der uns schon auf einen genußreichen Abend einstimmte. Die Hauptgerichte schmeckten so intensiv und gut, wie ich es selten bei einem anderen Thailändischen Restaurant gefunden habe! Und zum Abschluss überraschte uns die Köchin noch mit einer neuen herzhaften Création mit Hühnchen, die uns uns ebenfalls hervorragend mundete.
Am zweiten Abend gab es vom Haus aus als Vorspeise Kroepoek mit einer intensiv-​lekkeren Satésauce. Und als Nachtisch wurden wir überrascht mit süßer Mango mit Klebereis *yummie*!
Zu jedem guten Restaurant gehört natürlich aber auch ein guter Service. Und dieser war hervorragend: neben der Köchin ist ihr Mann nämlich für den Service zuständig und so genossen wir auch durch seine Gegenwart einen charmanten, herzlichen und humorvollen Abend und werden unseren Aufenthalt hier nicht vergessen und sehr gerne wiederkommen!

The tofu in the yellow Panang curry was the only real downer — the curry itself was divine with the potatoes
The décor was a little dull — and the sign outside is the same color as the paint on the outside — which made it a bit hard to find — albeit very conveniently located.

Just flew in from Los Angeles. We really enjoy Thai food and often seek it out when traveling in Europe. We stopped here because of the Unilocal reviews and rating. We were not disappointed. However it was the owners of the establishment that made our evening. With both Thai and Dutch roots this couple shared their story including bringing an amazing Thai cook with them 26 years ago… now at 76 she doesn’t want to stop cooking. Thank goodness — this place is a gem.

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was the bathroom was out of toilet paper and the décor could use some updating, other than that, this place was a true gem. Great flavors, quality ingredients, timely service, and very reasonably priced. If I lived here, this would satiate all thai cravings and be my weekly goto! Totally unexpected, I’m glad my man did the research because it payed off with an amazing dinner at na Siam!

Excellent food! Service was very personal and atmosphere is cozy and intimate. Great food great service. Chicken Pad Thai and shrimp curry was delicious. These owners take a lot of pride in their restaurant.

A Amsterdam, il n’est pas simple de trouver un bon plan resto le soir. Les Hollandais ont l’habitude de manger en même temps que les poules, donc évidemment à 18h, tout est full. Sans réservation, c’est galère.
Imaginez-​vous deux morts de faim à la recherché de la pépite en plein froid polaire. Autre élément né nous aidant pas, il semblerait que les Unilocaleurs Hollandais soient des grands amateurs de l’école des fans… De «trop» nombreux établissements sont bien cotés ! Difficile de trouver parmi tout ça les vrais bonnes astuces.
Mais bon on en a vu d’autres, après avoir pris une bonne bière dans un bar typique plutôt sympa, on se met en chasse, il nous faudra quand même 30 longues minutes pour finalement décider de s’arrêter quelque part.
Tanaaaa ! Notre choix se porte sur un thaïlandais. Euh thaïlandais, êtes-​vous sûr? Dans le resto, on a clairement l’impression d’être dans un pub irlandais tout de bois vêtu. Non non, on né se trompe pas, ça doit être le couple de gérants qui a dû reprendre l’endroit tel quel. Il y a quand même quelques bouddhas et décorations typiques qui nous rappellent qu’au menu, ça né sera pas des fish & chips.
Notre choix est fait ! Service ultra rapide qui fait même un peu peur… Mais c’est plutôt bon. Agréablement surpris au final. Chouette petit repas, c’est ce qu’on voulait.
Maintenant arrive le moment de mettre ma note et euh bah je né sais pas trop en fait. Le Hollandais que je né suis pas taperait un 5 étoiles sans se poser de question, pour ma part, je dirais après moultes réflexions un Pas Mal !
Bah ouais, c’était chouette, mais si je devais conseiller The place to be à Amsterdam, ça né serait sans doute pas là. Mais vous né serez pas déçu si vous y aller ;-) !

Absolutely wonderful. We got the Tom yum Kai (coconut and chicken soup) and it was excellent. We also got the shrimp pad Thai, the tiger cry beef and the panang chicken. The tiger cry beef may have been the best I’ve ever had. The pad Thai was nice and tangy and the panang was incredible with a lot of chicken. I’ve eaten and cooked quite a bit of Thai food over the years, but I don’t believe I’ve ever had a complete meal that was as good across the board with no weak dishes. It was all we could have hoped for. As icing on the cake, the staff were friendly and engaging, paying special attention to our kids and joking with them. Highly recommended.

After having delicious Indonesian one night… we were craving something else in a similar vane. We found this place on Unilocal and the reviews were spot on. From the moment we walked in, we received the friendliest of service. The owner (i think) took care of us and joked with us. I ordered the Mussaman chicken curry, one friend ordered the pad thai, and the other the yellow curry. We started with a bottle of sparkling Chardonnay which was delicious. I started with the Tom Kha soup which was deliciously spicy and flavorful. My meal was amazing… probably the best Mussaman I’ve ever had. My friends really liked theirs as well. We loved this place!
