Mchi

Pretty awesome Asian fusion food that really blew away my tastebuds. Some dishes stand out more than others, but overall everything was pretty darn good!
In the starter section we got 5 things — Edamame, Mchi Beef carpaccio, Indo Gado, Gado, Sashimi mix and Ha Kau. My top ranked of these 5 without a doubt would be the Sashimi mix — loved how fresh and simply divinely melt in the mouth the seafood was. The ginger had a nice spicy kick too. My second would be divided between the Ha Kau (although I think New King in Amsterdam’s Chinatown does a better steamed shrimp dumpling) and the Indo Gado Gado (that peanut dipping sauce was just nutty and robust with a spicy kick to it. I don’t eat beef, but both my dining companions scarfed this dish down — I did try the wasabi mayo that was drizzled on the carpaccio with some bean sprouts instead and it was really delicious. The edamame was decent, but didn’t really standout.
For mains we got Mangolian Lamb, Teriyaki salmon and Szechuan Crab. I’d go back and order any of these three again in a heartbeat, but if forced to pick one option, I’d go with the salmon. (This despite the lamb being on fire when it came out!) the salmon was cooked just perfectly and I loved the teriyaki sauce used — it was just mouth smacking (too often I find the sauce very salty). The Szechuan Crab surprised me by being deep fried and both the folks I was with thought it was very salty — but tasted fine to me.
A really good surprise that we got was with the sticky rice that came wrapped in banana-​leaf! The smell of the rice as well as the taste was just really exquisite. So after eating all that, just no space for dessert, so we skipped. The bill between the three of us and the 9 dishes we got was € 103 (rounded up, so not bad @ € 35 a person. Also the bill came in this cute tower and the lower level had mints and candy.

Friendly staff, good atmosphere, good combination of food and menu. Best restaurant of ijburg!

Had dinner here last night. Menu is Asian fusion, with lots of great combinations. All dishes were very rich in flavour and served perfect. (Hot and pretty — sushi was not too cold)
All staff was super friendly and considerate, doors were opened, coats got hung, glasses were refilled, plates were changed for a next course, and since we were pretty late, after finishing all of our ordered dishes, we got asked if we would want to order more food before the kitchen would close. Very attentive!
Place itself looks nice. One little flaw; that music!!! (Get a decent installation please)

We arrived early, just after they opened, so they were still getting the restaurant ready for the evening. We enjoyed our meal thoroughly. Had a number of nice tapas style fish dishes to enjoy. Get the sesame crusted tuna!

When visiting (or living on) Ijburg, this is the place to dine. It is a modern chinese restaurant based on the shared-​dining principle. You order multiple smaller dishes which you can share with the whole table. The food is excellent and tasty, service is swift and sound and the pricing is really sharp. The interior is modern with comfortable seatings and both suitable for groups as well as intimate dining. For the fans: they have an extensive sake-​menu where you can choose from the best possible sakes from Japan!
