Marbles Vintage is a really lovely vintage woman’s clothing shop located next to the Zipper and close to other vintage stores like The Time Machine, so it is perfect to include in your vintage shopping tour! This little shop is filled with pretty clothing but it is still so neat! Everything is sorted by colour and type, so nice! They are perfect for buying pretty dresses, there are hundreds of them! Almost everything here is vintage, although there a also a few new items(stuff by Kling mostly, and some jewellery). They also have cute tops, skirt, coats, shorts, coats and jackets. And… lots of beautiful vintage shoes and boots! So awesome. There is also lots of cute jewellery and I especially love the rings and earrings. The prices at the places are very affordable and their stuff is really cute and feminine. I also think this place feels a bit less ‘second-hand’ than some other vintage shops like episode, the time machine etc. It looks cleaner and I can image better to people who usually don’t like the thought of something being worn by someone else before. Love this place!

I’m generally not such a big fan of second hands. Often funky smelling clothes with faded colors that sort of have a sloppy 2nds vibe to them. Also, I find it too much work going through the disorganized racks of clothing, trying to find that one little gem. Reminds me of trying to eat a wara awara, the tough fibrous fruit from the palm tree. And just like eating the wara awara, after shopping 2nd hand you might end up stuck with too many fibres that don’t necessarily bring out the best in you. Despite my dislike for second hand shops, I do like the element of surprise. And considering the applied prices better soothe my budget, so I should have more love for these kind of shops(this is me trying to convince myself to not stop shopping but just start shopping cheaper). Marbles turned my general dislike for 2nd hand shops into a fickle aversion. They have quite a good selection on offer and I found myself liking a lot of items, forcing me(the forever doubster) to make choices. Sometimes you just have to commit, even if it is to a gorgeous saffron yellow shirt.
