Really loved the atmosphere. Great local place off the beaten path for the curious traveler.

Good place for a casual dinner on the terrace. Pizza was sizeable and tasty. Service was also pretty good. On sunny days, resos are a must. Will be coming back!

Good quiet sun trap next to the less pretentious part of the oud zuid. Had the burrata watermelon salad which was unusually filling and perfect for the warm weather. Definitely recommend.

Top notch lunch today, we came on a Sunday afternoon and the food hit the spot — good flavor and great service. Atmosphere is very nice and lots of space. Highly recommended for any occasion.

I came here with a few coworkers for lunch looking for an alternative to our canteen in the Olympische Stadion area. Marathonweg (the name of the street and the restaurant) actually has a few establishments up and down.
I ordered the steak frites for lunch which comes with a massive salad and matchstick fries.separately. So be patient if it doesn’t all come at once. I ordered it medium-​rare knowing full well it would come out medium — Jason: 1 Dutch Chefs: 0.
The steak cut itself is hard to explain. It wasn’t quite a baseball steak but I think that’s what they were going for. It was very tender and flavourful. The frites were great and there was more than enough mayo on the side. The salad was fresh arugula with cherry tomatoes.
Others dining with me had the varying options of open-​faced sandwiches with other meats (chicken, steak).
The price was a bit steep for lunch (nearly 20 euro) but you have to splurge once in a while right?
The setting is quite nice and I can see this place being a great dinner or higher end borrel spot with good ambient lighting and cozy tables. There is a completely separate menu for dinner but both menus are provided so it may be confusing when you think you can order a dinner dish for lunch.

Excellent lunch address. Great steak sandwiches. Did not try the dinner menu yet. But great atmosphere and friendly staff. Trendy with a touch of vintage. In the summer there is a sunny terrace.

On another sunny day, I will definitely be back for drinks and sunshine. The nachos were just ok. I hear the pizza is good. The interiors aren’t very warm or cozy though — almost trying too hard to be stylish — that I’m not sure if it’s a place that I would go back to for dinner.
Really the highlight was the generous tap water served in their custom bottles. A big plus in my book!
