Well what a surprise this place was. Actually, what a shock. Stylish interior, friendly service and what incredible food. Located in the Rivierenbuurt, easily reachable by the Tram 4 and 12, this wonderful family run establishment doesn’t disappoint. The Ravioli with spek with a ricotta filling and served in a cream sauce was a revelation. The profiteroles were so good that I wanted to stand on the table and shout about it. It’s incredibly good value and I’ll definitely be going back again. Een aanrader!

I really enjoyed this place. It was a Saturday night during IBC and was not at all busy at 7pm. This might not be a good thing for the business, but I certainly enjoyed a haven of peace and quiet away from the craziness of the RAI and the rambunctiousness of the conventioneer haunts in Amsterdam. The food was very good and the service was friendly. Standouts for me were the antipasti and the tiramisu.

Wanted to try something different as we keep frequenting the same restaurants, so after a bit of googling and Unilocal checking, I came across Libero and some friends and I decided to check it out. Well, the reviews are well deserved — the food was incredible. My starter, the tomato soup, was one of the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to Italy many times. My friend had a gorgonzola risotto which was amazing. The Scaloppine was also a hit. The pizza was very good, not quite as good as my fave, Fuoco Vivo, but definitely very tasty indeed. By Amsterdam standards, the restaurant was quite spacious and we didn’t feel cramped. It also had a very clean, modern feel to it. The Italian film décor was nice and not tacky. It didn’t quite make 5 stars for me as there were a few mixups with the service — nothing terrible and any mistakes were quickly rectified in a polite, friendly and professional manner. I definitely want to come back and try some other dishes and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes quality, Italian food. If I lived in the neighbourhood, I’d probably be there every week!

Finally! Some good quality Italian in Amsterdam! Libero offers a nice change from the typical dodgy Italian restaurants(primarily in the centre of Amsterdam) where microwaves are the primary cooking implement and tourists are the primary target. I took my family(visiting from the states) to Libero and we were all very pleased!(and you don’t know my mother… pleased isn’t so easy to come by with her!) I“m no pasta expert but I’d be flabbergasted if it wasn’t fresh — It was so rich… I could practically taste the Italian love put into it! Not that I know what Italian love tastes like? The service was good, in that the servers performed with a smile and not with the usual look of contempt I’ve become accustomed to in Amsterdam. There were a few missteps(i.e.: forgetting to bring a bottle of water, serving having no idea on if the salad had dressing on it or not) but nothing major and almost everything can be forgiven if a person’s attitude is positive, which it was at Libero! This place is definitely worth the trip to ‘the dirty Zuid’

Everything about this Italian restaurant was wonderful! I am giving it a 5 star because the food and service was outstanding and authentic! Finding naturally(gluten-free) Italian dishes can be a challenge, but I finally found a lovely Italian restaurant that also serves amazing(gluten-free) pasta dishes too. My Dutchman loved his(gluten pasta) dish as well. Libero has a fine combination of a lovely ambiance+ delicious food for everybody +great service+ gluten & gluten-free/pasta dishes+desert was(heerlijk) as the Dutch would say. They also get mad points for the ambiance. I loved the black and white Italian films on the screen in the middle of the restaurant. It’s literally one of the best Italian restaurant in Amsterdam, trust me… you will not be disappointed by the food. Last night we had the pleasure of eating at one of the best Italian restaurants in Amsterdam. I am so happy when I am able to find a new and lovely restaurant that I can add to my list of favorites. I completely fell in love with this Italian restaurant. I thought the food here was definitely about quality. If you are craving good pasta, pizza or risotto then this is definitely the place to eat. It’s so hard to believe that Italian food like this exist in Amsterdam. I can’t believe this wonderful Italian restaurant has been right under our noses too. Locals and travelers this restaurant in Amsterdam is the place to visit for fantastic and authentic Italian cuisines. It’s a must add to your list of favorite places in Amsterdam. After dinner, also make sure to take a lovely stroll along the Amstel river. I am looking forward to returning back to this restaurant again! Trams located in this area 25,12,4, and etc. Also just walking distance from Amstel station. Bön Appetite

It is a new restaurant… Italian one in Amsterdam. Contrary to most of the places in the city, the place is quite big and the seating is nicely spaced so that you do not sit on top of each other. Run by Italians, you get of course help in Dutch and English also… the same goes for the menus. It is southern Italian cuisine. The attire is modern rustic with a lot of Sofia Loren’s pictures on the wall(a bit IKEAis). I did not give 4 stars not because of the food, but because of the service VERY slow, they are clearly still in starter mode, and the video beamer in the room which projects a 60’s B&W Italian movie… really captures your attention instead of chit chatting with friends while eating. Part of the service, after a while you are seated, olives with Grana Padano and balsamic vinegar and these small fried balls made of flavor and water paste and salt… very appetizing! Starters were very good classics, from the mix platter to the vitel tonne’. All good and quite big quantities. I went then directly for the main dish with a very good dorade fillet in a pan with olive oil, white wine, parsley(fish). It was well done and very well presented. Good job. My friends took the fresh fillet of salmon whit asparagus done in the oven… very good, and sliced veal in a pan whit olive oil, rucola en parmesan cheese. The latest looked messy on the plate but it was very nice. The dessert was unluckily not the one I would wanted as the Panna Cotta was finished. I got a profiterole which was gneeeee… :(Too much cream, not many profiteroles and lot of chocolate… a bit of over the top sugar dose. Wine are fine, not too pricey, even if you can get a 70 Euro bottle. Over all good, I will get here again. The chef Bruno came out to greet us and he is really a pleasant person… good touch together with the complementary lemoncello :)
