Lab111 «expat cinema» regularly does screenings in English, without subtitles or foreign languages with English subtitles. Excellent choice of movies too. Last one I saw was the Iranian (Farsi) movie A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night.

If you are visiting Amsterdam and looking for places to eat that little bit different from city centre eateries, this fits the bill perfectly (and what I was looking for when I visited!)
It’s not a restaurant. it’s a idiosyncratic film club and bar that serves good food, what’s not to like? Service was from the bar staff, friendly and capable. Food was above average — Amsterdam isn’t the cheapest place to eat out.

Love the location. It’s kind of hidden and took me a couple years to realize there is a restaurant here. Cool and kind of morbid interior decoration (guess the building was some kind of mortuary/​autopsy lab?). The menu rotates and they have their own garden, so you never know what they’ll have. It’s been good every time for us. Nice wine list and awesome wine fridge!

Staff was very friendly. I had artichoke ravioli. The pasta was tough and flavorless and drowning in a very thick tomato sauce. My husband’s steak was tough. A friend who lives nearby recommended it. We won’t return and don’t recommend it.

Dark. Candle-​lit. Trendy music. Loud conversation. Photos of juice bottle aisles on the wall. That is Lab 111. I came here for an event and stayed for dinner and drinks. The food was ok, the drinks were ok, the service was ok. The lamb was a little tough but the sauce was alright. The servers didn’t totally ignore us but they weren’t super attentive either, so everything was like that-​not the best but not the worst. It just seemed a little expensive for what it is.
