While walking down Haarlemmerdijk and Haarlemmerstraat my friend and I came across Jordino and were enticed by the window. Seriously, how can you walking by a place like this?! If you have a sweet tooth, it will love you. You want a cool ice creamy treat? Macarons? Chocolates? It’s a one-stop-shop! Everything looked amazing! I just kept reading what the chocolate were(which is nice because some place don’t have them labeled!), then I drooled over the macarons since I have a think for macarons! The guy because the counter was nice enough, but he didn’t seem to know which macarons were which. But it just made for an interesting experience! I only got macarons because I can only indulge so much. They were a little smaller than others in the city and not quite as flavorful. Still a nice treat? Definitely! If you are headed through the area to get on your train, anyone would love a little gift from here!

You have a sweet tooth and you’re craving it. Luckily you have this spot called ‘Jordino’ in your neighborhood. I have no idea what the name means, but it has come to signify tasty handmade bonbons and artisanal chocolate creations. There’s something on display to get almost anyone excited — even chocolate Louis Vuitton handbags. The selection is quite good. I have a hard time getting the few pieces I usually walk in for. Some of my favorites — the forget me not, caramel bonbon, pralines. They even have ice cream of various flavors served in chocolate coated waffles. I can’t decide if it stands its ground against that at ijscupje, but it’s good, even if it’s 1 °C outside. The staff jokes around with me every time I go!

My favorite ice cream shop in AMS. Also makes dipped waffle cones in dark and white chocolate covered in toffee or peanuts. Wonderful flavors and even smurf flavor for the kids.(Technically vanilla with blue coloring.) Delicious ice cream, tasty chocolates, wonderful desserts. Highly recommended.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… I LOVEGELATO. So much so that I consider myself an aficionado. I discovered Jordino while studying abroad in Amsterdam during spring 2006. I was getting used to the currency and fell in love with the euro coin. So simple. My first time here was an unexpected surprise; some friends and I were exploring the Haarlemmerstraat neighborhood and found ourselves in need of a sweet treat. When we discovered you can get one scoop for one euro, there was no stopping us. Anytime I had some«change»(euro coins) I immediately felt the need to spend it at Jordinos. It was so convenient… one coin, one scoop, one happy customer. The gelato is good, too. Not the best I’ve ever had(see my 5-star review of Dolce) but it is money well spent and they have at least 10 flavors daily. And I am happy to report that almost 7 years later(I just visited again last November 2012), it is still only one euro!!!

I found this place while aimlessly wandering around Amsterdam, and I am very glad that I did. I started off by looking at all of the intricately designed chocolate creations in the window, and then decided to go in for a treat. I got an ice cream for between 2 – 3 Euro, and it was delicious. Definitely pleased that I stopped by this shop.

Beautiful handcrafted chocolates. Prices are very reasonable. I wanted to buy one of everything, but fortunately I didn’t have that much room in my luggage! This will be my go-to place when in Amsterdam.

I am disappointed that I have to write this review, but I was even more disappointed that I had a horrible experience here. I went to Jordino’s a week after my first review to show my boyfriend one of my favorite shops. The lady at the counter was nice and offered to help me, but I needed more time to decide on the flavor of ice cream that I wanted. By the time I decided, the shop got busy and a man came from the back to help at the counter. He was really friendly and helped a few Dutch ladies, then asked if anyone needed help. For some reason he seemed reluctant to help me, not sure what that was about. I asked if I could taste a flavor(which I have done here EVERY time I come here when I visit) and he said in a rude grouchy way, «No you can’t try anything,» then grumbled something under his breath in Dutch waved his hand around and walked away! Seriously, dude, are you kidding me! I was amazed at how incredibly rude he was, and other people in the store looked at me with a ‘yikes’ look on their face, including the woman working there. I stood there in shock, and the other woman behind the counter asked if I needed help. I asked her why he walked away and refused to help me, and she said because it is not customary to taste ice cream there. She clearly felt bad and offered me to taste a flavor anyhow. My boyfriend was pissed at the whole experience and wondered why I took him there. As you can see from my previous review I really loved this place, but that guy was a mean grouch and needs to stay in the back with that attitude. That was absolutely my last visit to Jordino. Even if taste testing is not common, say that, but refusing to wait on me is totally unacceptable! Nothing that Jordino sells is THAT good that you have to get mistreated before you get it.

Jordino is the perfect place to go if you have a sweet tooth or a strong liking for chocolate, and ice cream, then I would say this is the best place to explore different flavors. I Love the variety of chocolates displayed in the window here. There are a range of chocolates for every type of theme. This fair-trade shop has the most beautiful design and creative chocolates to enjoy. An ideal place to shop for unique chocolate gifts. Next time I send my my mom a box of Dutch chocolates, then I will definitely make sure to stop in here to purchase a box of their delicious chocolates. Haarlemmerdijk is the perfect neighborhood to take a stroll and explore so many creative shops on the block.

Das Eis ist wirlich superlecker. Mit Schokolade und Krokant gespickte Hörnchen machen die Sache dann richtig rund :-)

What can I say about Jordino — awesome ice cream, awesome desserts, awesome to look into the window and drool over all the chocolates! Even if you never go inside, walk by just to see window display. Cats, dogs, purses, shoes, all made out of chocolate! I know it sounds a little weird but you have to see for yourself. Once you get though, I’ll be money that you’ll go inside to get a tasty treat!

I like wandering along Haarlemmerdijk. There seem to be fewer tourists milling about than in the main streets, and there are many nice shops to check out. One of them is Jordino, a Chocolateria & Desserteria with an amazing looking and tasting selection of artisan sweets. They are not cheap, most around 4, — to 5, — EUR /100 grams, but constitute a visual and gustatory feast.
