I went when it was such a lovely day so we stayed at the terrace and was so much fun because all the boats were coming to have a beer there and just stayed a little bit! This place has a lot of movement and we had a burger that was really good!!! They bad thing is that the waiter was never around so we have to wait for a long time just for her to come by and take our order!!!

I’m pretty sure this place is trying for the slowest service in Amsterdam… which is a shame as they have one of the best locations in the city, right on the Amstel river, they have a wonderful outdoor terrace area in summer but generally the service manages to let them down every-​time.
The prices for food and drink are just too damn expensive considering the area, and you risk dying of hunger due to the service. You can plan around 60 – 90 minutes if you are going there for lunch and order your food immediately. It took around 25 minutes longer for our friend to get their Croquette and white bread after we got all our food, this is just crazy considering it should take 5 minutes at most and the place wasn’t even that busy when we visited. The food tastes ok and the location is amazing so that’s the redeeming feature that ensures this spot doesn’t get a 2 star review.
By all means drop by but be warned if it’s in summer and after work you can expect a long wait between drinks so buy two everytime and you can be sure you won’t get too thirsty between rounds…

Came here on a lovely day so we could sit outdoors. The weather was perfect and they opened up the top, they bring it to a close when the rain starts. Mostly general bar food, but the Kip with the sate is very good, I would order this every time. The burger is all right, I liked the spiciness more than the actual burger. Decent selection of alcohol but it’s more just a general pub to hang with friends and enjoy the view.

Hesp is a nice place when you want a special beer. They have a about 10 – 14 special beers on draft. The place is a bit expensive and some of the waiters don’t really take the effort to serve you quick or bring your glass outside in case your sitting on their terass. But absolutely still a nice place because of the wide range of beers.

This bar is really great place to go if you’re getting sick of drinking Heineken and Amstel. They have a pretty extensive beer menu which includes some tasty house beers. The patio is nice and right by the water, although it is enclosed with glass walls which kind of ruins the view. Inside is quite large and has a pretty unique décor. My only grievance is that the service was really really slow… I thought I was going to die of thirst at one point. Perhaps I just need to adopt some Dutch standards.

Essen war lecker und das Ambiente bei schönem Wetter leider auch. Fraglich warum dann die Bedienung und die Küche überfordert war Das ist dann auch der Grund für die 3 Punkte

Sub-​par food, overpriced German beers, some of the staff are great, others not quite so. But Hesp is right there on the Amstel riverbank. It can hardly be beat for location. So yeah, we’ve all had better, but the location makes up for it.
