Never again. massage was painfull steamroom was crowded sauna was full we went on a Sunday, and it was very busy, they should have a max capacity rule to keep it relaxed. The ladies were not very clear in their directions, and I felt a bit lost at some points. It was very noisey as some people were not very aware of their suroundings and clearly don’t know that you can also use your wispering voice. we got olive soap slapped on, and were sent to the steamroom as to soften the skin before the scrub. With no clear direction we circkled the place until we found it. it was crowded and noisy in there. No fun. After waiting an hour for the scrub, she roughly scrubbed us.(hold on tight hun, it’s a thrill ride!!) But I like a rough scrub. We were then sent to the«shower» and then for tea, because we would get our massages after. the massage was just plain rough nothing relaxing about this, and she clearly did not have any form of training for this, the back of my neck is hurting now(Monday) The mud was slapped on, and we were told to sit and let it soak. So we soaked for 15 minutes and decided to leave. for € 40.- each, I was expecting a bit more attention. maybe the girls should focus a bit more on quality and not quantity. The interior looks like an old abbatoir, and the metal scrub tables don’t help. there are no shower heads, just pipes that spray water in a million directions. The lighting is dim, but not the nice kind, more the seedy kind. It’d be horrormovie location shout’s wet dream! they don’t take any card, cash only!(if you deicede to ignore my advice) I will not return again. I feel shammed.

It was a dreary cold and rainy day… I was yearning to visit a steam room and to relax. I’ve never been to a hammam before so I thought I’d pluck up the courage and give it a go. It’s definitely not luxurious and quite to the point, which was fine for me. I was happy to wear my bikini bottoms, this being one of the reasons why I went there instead to a mixed gender fully nude sauna. I was the only person there actually(an hour later 2 more visitors came). I booked the bridal treatment, consisting of a body scrub, massage, mud, and optional henna or tanning bed.(You have to bring your own scrub glove by the way) For the scrub I had to lay down on a metal gurney(made me think of an autopsy table actually: S) and the kind lady vigorously scrubbed me. It was a little painful! I rinsed and then I was slathered in mud and had to wait sitting on a little bench, for a it to soak in a bit. Another lady offered me cold water in a little tin cup. After rinsing the mud off, me and one of the two other vistors went for the massage. It was pleasant, focussing more on blood circulation rather than relaxing. Rinsed once again and had the henna treatment, then repeated to wait again on a bench and finally rinse. The place is small and in-between treatments I found myself wondering how it would work if there were more visitors. The steam room is small but satisfying(there’s also a dry hot sauna but that’s not my cup of tea) but after steaming for a while and in-between treatments I wasn’t quite sure what to do with myself. From doing research on hammams I’ve learned that they are considered a social place, however, when I’m topless I’m not feeling too chatty with strangers. From my experience I’ve concluded that the hammam is more of an activity,(washing, scrubbing, chatting) nothing is really focussed on relaxing and becoming«zen» so to speak, which conflicts a bit with my nature. Overal it was good experience and I’m sure it would suit a lot of people!

I’ve been to Turkish baths in Spain and in Istanbul as well as Korean spas. This is not the most beautiful of hammams by any stretch. It’s basically like going to the steam room at a gym or public swimming pool. That said, I agree with the other reviewer that the tea room was lovely. I also thought the services like the scrub and massage were nice and my skin felt great, hence the three stars. But on décor I would rate one or two stars. I got the 40 euro package and went on a Sunday and it was not very packed. The steam room, sauna and shower heads worked fine.(They don’t tell you but you have to push the shower dial to get the water to start and then turn to adjust the temperature.) I think they changed the rules a bit because I saw a sign about no mud in the sauna. But there was other people’s mud on the benches in the shower room where they asked me to sit. I didn’t have shower shoes, but highly recommend bringing them if you have them. It’s a good option if you really just need some skin maintenance and to relax your muscles.

I had a wonderful experience at the hammam. I had never been to one before and really had no idea what to expect! I was with a pal who was getting the Bride treatment and the rest of us got the basic: oil soap, steam bath, mud, the scrub, sauna… it was excellent. We had a good time smearing mud on each other and I must say my skin has never been softer! I found the facilities quite nice, no broken showers or anything. It certainly was not the fanciest spa I have been to but we had a super sweet and friendly attendant which was really nice. English speakers: they only speak dutch here. Also, they only take cash, and its proper to leave a nice tip, too. Also, you must have an appointment! And bring your girl friends, its more fun that way!

I went here with a friend several months ago and found it overall not that great. Lockeroom was fine, tea room was GREAT, but half of the showerheads were broken, the steam room was broken and the floor was full of the mud they use and really it was very basic. Having said that, if I had brought my bathingsuit bottoms(you keep your underwear on) and bought a massage like my friend did then I would have probably gotten more out of it.
