Exota

Exota is almost like a souvenir shop. The clothing is just so typical for a certain type of Dutch woman. The young mother with her kids on her ‘bakfiets’ (like a delivery bicycle) riding along side the canals dressed in a flower print King Louie dress and wearing cowboy boots. You see these type of woman a lot here in Amsterdam :) and their favourite shop must be Exota. This is the place where you can buy those dresses.
I actually love Exota. I really like those stereotypical dresses and think they are very lovely. I don’t, however, have kids, do not own a bakfiets and never wear cowboy boots. I like Exota stuff combined with other brands and I do not go for the whole look.
The clothing at this place is not very cheap so if you want to spend a little less you should definitely go to the Noordermarkt on a Monday morning because Exota sells their old stuff there for very low prices! You may have to fight some other hysterical woman there though since their stand is very popular.
