We went here because we wanted to sit outside on a terrace, enjoy some sun and get some dinner. The location of this restaurant is beautiful, it’s in a little square with trees. The only reason they have 2 stars is because they have the worst service by far I have ever experienced — and that’s saying something; given that I’m used to fairly poor service in Amsterdam. I don’t know if the staff was having a bad day but they were all arguing amongst themselves in front of all the customers; they were all pissed constantly with angry faces; and when we asked for a menu — the waiter was so pissed, he almost slammed it on the table. And then, there was a person sitting on the table next to us, reading his menu and when he was about to order, a couple of waiters came and told him that he was not allowed to sit there as it was a reserved table. Super rude, I know. Of course, the man left annoyed. But that wasn’t the end of it — the waiters continued arguing amongst themselves blatantly ignoring customers waiting for service. And finally when we went to pay; after waiting for somebody to come with the bill, we just walked up to the counter– I’m leading Dutch and I wanted to say«can we pay the bill» in Dutch. And unfortunately, my sentence was wrong — the waiter huffed and puffed so hard that I just walked out and let my friend take care of the bill. I’m never going back here — that’s for sure. Oh yes, and the food, of course — we tried fried mozzarella — a little too oily; ravioli — decent; pizza — good. One star for location and one star for pizza… Phew…

Cosy local Italian with lovely service(not your typical Dutch Waiters) and good food! There is a cat present so you know there are no mice around ;) we ordered two dishes but started sharing them, the waitress brought two small plates to help us without me asking her(yes that’s a big deal in Amsterdam)

Some amazing service and wonderful food. The kind of place you want to come back to, and explore the menu– most of which looked very good. The outdoor seating is a quiet little wonder, in the mix of the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. Without a doubt worth going to, as the food is well priced and the staff enjoyable ambassadors to the whole scene.

Nice atmosphere, but terrible food for vegetarians. The soup was decent but the pasta was mostly tasteless. So, super expensive but not satisfied at all. Waiters reaction to my feedback(upon being asked) was indifference. Wouldnt go back.

Authentic italian food: perfect pasta alla Vongole(19,95 euros). I loved it. The swordfish plate(19,95 Euros) was very generous. We could not finish it. Carpaccio with pesto and parmesan cheese was excellent and fresh Ambiance is more romantic and cozy than ambiant for party. Wine price a bit more expensive then usual. Pizza starting at 12euros — Oven thin crust. looked very good on my neighbour table.

Cute rustic atmosphere and probably the best pizza we’ve had in the city. Good idea to make a reservation it gets quite busy.

Excellent food, wonderful staff! Loved eating there so much the first night we were in town that we came back the next night too! Not only were the waitstaff good at what they do, but they made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. I highly recommend the ravioli and veal saltimbocca. The chocolate flan was delicious too. Make reservations if you can, although they were very accommodating when we arrived just before closing.

LAMENTABLE a pesar de que como he dicho la pizza y el calzone estaban realmente buenos… una lastima. pizza and calzone really nice, but a very bad personal and time service.

Charming little Italian place. I had the pasta with asparagus and it was very tasty. Served in a delicious but subtle garlic sauce, it was most welcome. The portion size is not large by American standards but just enough to feel satisfied and wanting more without feeling stuffed. I went back a couple of nights later with a colleague and he loved it as well. Really yummy food-I had the pizza the second time and it was delicious. The pasta is homemade. It was packed both times I went.

A bit on the small side. Fashionistas with spike heels should beware the ancient plank floors. The gaps are just wide enough to trap the delicate tips of your Delmans, Stuarts, or Jimmys. Once you’re seated, though, you’ll be safe and ready to enjoy. And practice your Italian with the staff. They appreciate it!

Excellent! Warm and inviting. The pizzas were outstanding, the pappardelle with lamb had a 2:1 lamb-pasta ratio, and most of the servers were friendly Italians. However, the genre«gastropub» is entirely misleading — this is an Italian restaurant.

I love this restaurant! Now who says the Dutch can’t cook good food? Well they are sadly mistaken. Never make any sort of generalization concerning Dutch cuisines. This Dutch restaurant is a great example of a wonderful place to start off a lovely evening with a delicious meal. I so enjoyed the food here! It was nice food, good wine and a charming atmosphere. I am not too crazy about dining in the Pijp, but this is a lovely restaurant to hit up before grabbing drinks. The District 5 is a «Diamond In the Rough». I honestly believe that it’s one of the best Dutch restaurants to eat out in Amsterdam. The neighborhood is rich with history and has a cool and local vibe to it.

Wer originäre italienische Küche genießen will, ist hier richtig.
