Where should I begin to say how lovely and special is this place for me? I used to spend so many days in here doing my Dutch homework and drinking lots of cappuccinos. A very lovely coffeeplace inside the Old Church in Red Light District(locals call it De Wallen) with a charming garden and good bocca cofee. Even though it is very spacious you can always have trouble finding a sitting spot as it is very busy. I understand why. But it’s worth trying. They serve coffee, tea, apple pie, soups and some very delicious sandwiches. Service is at the bar but you get used to it. Reasonable prices for the quality u receive. The staff is mostly very attentive and sometimes friendly, and they always do their job. They have working wifi and that can come handy if you are a tourist or you wanna work from this place. I came a couple of times with my laptop and because I was spending more time I got to have nice conversations with the owner. It’s idilic, it’s charming and it doesn’t feel you are in the Red Light. Come visit them and leave a sunny spot for me please, thank you

De Koffieschenkerij is a cute and very cool place, located in a small part of Oude Kerk, an old church. In the courtyard, there’s an excellent opportunity to sit outside in central Amsterdam, and inside is just surreal with a style that fits the age of the church. I haven’t tried the coffee here, unfortunately, but I can really recommend the cakes. The carrot cake is excellent and the almond cake really rocks! Unfortunately, the sandwiches and soup is just as boring and plain, as the cake is good.

Coffee drinks, tea or soft drinks to have along with your apple pie, carrot cake or other dessert is well worth it after or during your tour of the Red Light District especially if you’re not keen to go to one of the many tourist bars in the neighborhood. It’s a pleasant little terrace/courtyard to sit down, relax and regain your energy.

Great spot for coffee and tea as well as «church made» desserts and soup — and free wi-fi
