yes indeed, have been there a number of times over the past 2−½ years and the food is consistently good ! very authentic in taste; prompt and efficient service — beware that in the evening, you should make reservations!

Fantastic restaurant with personal service from the owner. Open windows view the central church. Great Dover sole, mussels of all sorts and and cow au vin. Highly recommended!

Walking through the streets of Amsterdam my friends and I came across this place. It looked much nicer than other nearby restaurant so we went in. All of us were seated immediately. I ordered a Croque Madame. The croque was very good, it just took a while to prepare. I was overall very pleased with the Côte Ouest Café and look forward to trying other cuisine here in Amsterdam.

Everything prepared carefully and well served. Nice place to have a coffee or lunch. Cream Burlee very good.

I was verrry tempted to get zee madame croquet (a favorrreet of mine), but I went forrr zee goat frommage, walnut and ‘oney galette.
And what did I theenk?

In France, one might zay SACRE BLEU @#%$ @%^!^ $%#$%! RRRRR! But eating zee food in Amsterrrdam, eets ok.
I theenk zee interrrrriorrrrr eez what zee Dutch peeeople call ‘gezellig’, and I would bee back for zee beers (Zwaar Blond is my favorrreet ‘ere) while watching zee high tourrrrist thrrrough zee windows. But I do not theeeenk I will be back juuust forrr zee food.

Phenomenal French food. Very traditional and balanced good. Good price for the food and service the pain perdu is not to sweet and with the help of the coulis its almost perfection. If you want a good dish and good service this is the perfect little hidden gem in the center of Amsterdam.

I walked into this place at random, the menu posted outside looked appealing. Unfortunately, everything was just «OK». The place wasn’t very busy, although it was a Friday night, probably about ¹⁄₃ of the capacity. The service (not the waiter) was incredibly slow. A simple appetizer+entrée ended up being a one-​and-​a-​half hour ordeal. The food was also «OK», not bad, but certainly nothing to write home about. The quantity were a bit off, too much meat or too little side. And I would stay away from the «moules farcies», which, again, tasted «OK», but tiny and a little dry from being oven backed. The waiter did an «OK» job with me, though he forgot to bring the salt and pepper when asked the first time. The family at the neighboring table wasn’t so lucky, when he didn’t put in the order for the mother’s entrée, as must have asked for clarifications in less-​than-​perfect-​English. So he brought out 3 entrees to for people, and didn’t find it strange that the mother didn’t «order» anything. Turns out she thought she ordered, and she ended up eating after her kids and husband. What waiter leaves a table without making extra-​sure that having 3 entrée orders for 4 people is actually what the clients want. Answer, a mediocre waiter. Finally, this is the type of restaurant that no local goes to, and no one goes to more than once. They’re business model is built on providing mediocre service, serving mediocre food to tourists that will never come back.

Lovely find, good French food without the usually stupid prices you would find in the fancier «French» restaurants. I had the Braised Beef with Spinach mash from specials board and it was, melt-​in-​the-​mouth tasty. Also the half carafe of wine was of a good quality and a very reasonable price.
I’ll definitely be back.

A fantastic find in the heart of the Centrum. Simple décor and a simple menu of classic French bistro fare (no escargot but the moules farcies is to die for). Friendly service and good food executed to high standards makes this a great spot for a lovely meal…
