This is the new office local– the one that people actually want to go to rather than the one that you to head towards because it’s 1. Raining or 2. You’re lazy, or 3. Both! And granted, it’s seemingly an odd bar in an odd place, it’s actually quite nice inside!
Plus they sell the usual bar favourites that are still piping hot and delicious when they arrive, perfect things to snack on as you progressively get rowdier and rowdier– and I can vouch for both, because I’ve burnt the roof of my mouth scarfing them down whilst simultaneously enjoying the heady combo. Mixed in with the added ambiance of the usual Friday night crowd that just keep on piling in, it’s an absolute recipe for success.
Now if only the weather would perk up a little bit more but if we’re being honest here, what’s a little rain when there’s a glass of wine with my name on it?

Favorite place. I love going here for lunch, drinks, tea, desserts… All of the food is GREAT and fairly priced. It’s super cozy inside and the staff are friendly and upbeat. It’s right on the river, too. Definitely recommend.

Vrijdag is our favourite neighbourhood café, for a few reasons
It has really nice ambience and service, it’s decorated nicely and cosy, it has nicely priced food with quality products and has a great range of crafted beers. We (me, my husband and our 1 year old) come here for coffees, lunch, beers or diners. Besides this we love it, because it is super child friendly, as there are child seats, a diaper-​change thingy in the toilet and even a very sweet waitress who welcomes our son when he comes in and who takes him on rounds through the kitchen so we can peacefully finish our beer :-)

Great place for a late night drink but get there earlier for one of their burgers they are pretty damn special!
The drinks can be a little pricey but service is good and fairly quick and the staff are helpful and friendly which is good. There is a fairly positive and fun going crowd there most nights, good place to go for an after work drink.

It is a great café around the corner from my work. I have been there few times for Friday’s drinks. The décor is very nice, clean, simple — wood and stone.
I have tried their famous hamburger with fries and I am a fan! The hamburger was big and juicy with very nice spicy relish on the top of it. They serve it with a portion of fries on the side. The prices are ok, within the limit for this type of establishment. Staff is very friendly and helpful even when it gets very crowded. It is a great place for drinks and a quick bite with some friends.

A great new place in the Rivierenbuurt for a meal, a drink, or small party. The food is absolutely yummy. The hamburger is big and juicy and comes with a side of crispy fries and home-​made mayonaise. The pumpkin soup is delightful– full and flavorful with just enough seasoning.
The café itself is beautiful. The large and comfortable terrace is a that offers a perfect place to hang out with friends on a sunny summer day, but what really caught my attention about this place was the gorgeous interior. It has a rustic feel and an attention to detail that I have rarely seen in an Amsterdam café or restaurant. The feeling as you walk in is authentic and warm, while the friendliness of the staff makes you feel immediately welcome. This place is definitely a regular hangout for us from now on.

I went for a drink and snacks. It’s very comfortable and light. The stars are for ambience. The prices are slightly higher than some other places but in line with the rising prices all over town. The service was good and there was free wifi by signing in with your email address or Facebook. The dinners looked a bit pricey but I’m tempted to go back and try it out.
There were lots of people there but plenty of seats at the bar. Everyone seemed happy.

I had lunch here yesterday, it’s a new café on the corner of the Amstel river. Great lunch spot, unfortunately there is not much I can eat, because I have so many food allergies. However, they were kind enough to create a Salmon salad for me. Customer service was friendly, so no complaints in that area. I would maybe encourage them to create one thing on the menu for people with Celiac.

*1 for the interiors. The design alone is worth stopping by for a drink.
*2 for the customer service. They were extremely apologetic when they mistakenly served me a burger with mayo after I explained I was allergic to eggs. Maybe I’ve grown accustomed to the «modest» level of service in Amsterdam but the responsiveness of this staff to this mistake was beyond what I expected.
The burger though was just ok. Too salty. Overdone for my taste. The bun was odd and chewy. I did like the tomato relish they used as a replacement for mayo. The fries were not special. My fellow diner complained at how literal the goat cheese salad was. Mixed greens with a bunch of goat cheese. Not much else.
My recommendation… go for a drink. Check it out. Really the design of the interior is worth a stop. Take a risk with the menu and maybe you’ll find something you’ll like.
