Booking.com

I began using booking.com after hotels.com stuck me in a hotel with undisclosed noisy construction starting at 8 a.m.. On booking a hotel, I answered "No" to both stated options for marketing emails. As soon as the booking was completed, I received spam from them about '65 things to do in Seattle'. I had to go in and unsubscribe myself from a zillion spam lists that I never signed up for. This is not appreciated.

I honestly have never had a problem with
. Maybe once the hotel, but not the travel agency. I have used them several times and was always satisfied with their services. I have always got the impression they were very clear about their policies in relation to reservations and cancelations. Normally
is the first website I refer to when looking for a hotel.

I’ve used
for a couple of years. Very attentive to my needs. Very competitive with direct bookings and other bucket shops. I had a recent problem with a complex Amsterdam booking (ironic since they are based there). Alexandra called from Europe this morning and repaired a credit card mistake and preserves my discounted rate. Thanks Alexandra

— This is my favorite travel planning tool. I think they recently expanded to the US, but not quite sure. My favorite feature of this website is the ability to find single, double or triple rooms. The reason why this is helpful, is because overseas their terms of a double room is not universal so the website helps narrow that down.
is one of the first websites to inform users of whether or not there is a private bath for the hotel, whereas larger websites such as
recently began adding them on their search. This website has helped me plan tons of vacations well under budget. What’s nice about them is that you can guarantee the room without fronting any money, which helps tons when plans change. You do have an option to pay up front to guarantee a lower price. Love this website! Would recommend, but at the same time would like to keep it my secret tool. Ah well!
