Next to Frits another restaurant on the Jan Evertsenstraat that doesn’t deserve your attention or your money. Such a waste.
Can’t cook a decent pasta sauce. Vegetables that serve no purpose to the dish other than cleaning out the leftovers from the night before. It takes them forever. For. Ever. Well done burger that gets served almost raw. Popcorn appetizer that tastes like dust gone bad.
I really don’t know what to say. It was wasn’t crowded. The food isn’t that fancy and almost impossible to screw up. But they still manage to do just that.
Still: an extra star because the pancetta on the burger was pretty nice and this review took me a while, so I’m a little less pissed off than a few minutes ago.

Great place and great food! they also have a great terrace, inside isn’t too big, so if you go, make sure to reserve a table otherwise you might wait for a while… but is definitely worthy! I really love the atmosphere of this bar, and the staff too! If you are in the neighborhood, it is a must go place! Duck and hamburgers are fantastic!

Bar Baarsch has all the right elements.
Trendy music, soft lighting, happy hip faces, and friendly service. + nice food.
The first time around, I went just for drinks with some lady friends. The wines were tasty and moderately priced. The second time around I went with my manfriend for burgers. At 15.50 a pop, it’s a bit pricey but warranted. The combination of cheddar, bacon (!) and caramelized onions makes it worth the extra stretch.
Add a la chouffe + the cardamom vanilla crème brûlée, and you’re sure to be in happy company.
