I had a 8.5 hr layover in Amsterdam and it was my first time visiting; stumbling upon Amsterdam Cheese Deli in my search for lunch definitely added to my instant love for the city. I was greeted by a friendly fellow behind the counter while I indecisively perused the sandwiches.
Since I couldn’t decide, I asked for a recommendation and had the most delicious spicy melt on a crusty baguette, heated to perfection. While waiting, I was encouraged to sample some cheese — and sample I did! It’s impossible to leave this place without buying something. Part of me seriously debated buying a wheel and checking it to Canada.
I will definitely be returning one day. Thanks for the fantastic experience, Amsterdam Cheese Deli.

Stumbled across this cheese shop while exploring Amsterdam. Loved that there were tons of samples prior buying the cheese you want to bring home. Most of the cheese also last 4 weeks without being refrigerated so that you can travel with it. I got the truffle cheese for around $ 14 but it was so delicious I had to buy one home to share with friends and family.

Yummy! Lots of sampling and very friendly service. I walked away having purchased an eggplant focaccia style thick bread and x2 types of cheeses — vintage gouda (tastes sharp, like cheddar) and a cow goat mix called Klaver (really liked the surprising texture of this one).
The eggplant focaccia style thick bread warmed up a treat the next morning for breakfast and i am savoring eating little bites of the cheese every morning. Delicious!

Pour les avoir essayé, ces derniers sont généreux, gourmands, sapides et né demandent qu’à être dévorés, là, tout près, dans un rayon de soleil, assis au bord du canal.
