I love my local AH supermarket near my home in Haarlem, however this one, close to my work place is a completely diferent experience. Stuff is very rude and it looks like working for them is a punishment, so dont except great service. Watch out when you are walking around the shop as you might get hit by one of employees with the car used for refilling the shelves. They hardly ever display any products that are on bonus — so do some study before you come in. Customers try to avoid this supermarket, especially now when competition opened on the other side of the street.

Why I adore Albert Heijn? Because they are wonderful at labeling everything in their market that is Gluten-Free. Albert Heijn is a supermarket chain in the Netherlands. I have been fortunate to find so many Gluten free items here. For instance, pancake mix, bread, soup, crackers, several types of snacks, deserts, vitamins and etc. Yes, I have Celiac and it was very annoying at first trying to shop, but fortunately for me Albert Heijn came to the rescue. When I first moved here from the US, it felt like I was relearning how to eat gluten free all over again! Yes it was a pain but despite me not knowing how to read Dutch, Albert Heijn made life much simpler. On every item that is Gluten-free they post the logo sign to make life much more pleasant for people with Celiac. :)
