A great location for lunch. Parking is easy and the setting along the lake is beautiful.
Dinner is up to a good standard as is recognized by local customers. Normally the restaurant is quite busy.

We started going to the Boathouse several years ago when we first moved to Almere. The food was fantastic and the service great.
Last spring, my family ended up at the Boathouse on a rare sunny day which obviously was not prepared for. There were lots of people and the Boathouse was severely understaffed. Even though we were willing to spend money on drinks, we got about 1 round. Even after chasing down a waitress.
Thinking this was a one time event, my dutch inlaws took myself, my husband, and my parents who are in from the states since the food is good. Well, the food was good but the service was horrible. Our waitress was clueless, let the evening sun shine in all of our eyes (my mother in law got up to close them), ignored our drinks, and even forgot to put in our order! We only found out after we complained.
Also, the only reason the original glasses, from the round of drinks that were served when we first got there was cleared off the table is because we’ve asked.
In this economy, mediocre just won’t due. If you want good service, look elsewhere. If you don’t care about the service and don’t mind being ignored or having to chase down your food, but want good food, then this place is for you.
