There’s a appetizer plate with many different entries, all of them outstanding!!! I tried lamb with a yogurt sauce! Wow there’s no words, also the lamb chomps so delicious! The person who were attending very kind and patient. Really really nice

There seem to be so many zorba de griek franchises in holland that there doesn’t seem a need to have a long review here, to talk about what kind of food it serves. But this one is located in Aalsmeer centrum, charming little town centre with little car and foot traffic, making it a great spot for outdoor dinner soirée in summer.
We had a tapenade that comes with the namesake dish accompanied by garlic herb infused butter and a cold dip that is probably eggplant. And can’t tell whether the bread basket was compli or part of the tapenade order… Can’t ask questions that sound strange, and especially more so when I don’t speak Dutch. It was a great start to the dinner, each of the dips tasted delish, a bit of salty from the olive sundried tomato tapenade, a bit of tartness from the eggplant yoghurt, and richness from the butter.
We each had a platter, a moussaka and a gyros of pork. Surveying reviews on other zorba restaurants make me confident in saying the portions here are waaaaaaaaaay larger… And they are actually very good! Both had a side of rice with tomato broth that tasted natural and cooked from scratch sans additives, the kind where you debate whether to add a bit more salt into it but feel good you didn’t. The gyros was just the right dish for a meat lover, with grilled pork piled so high, some parts more crisp, nicely burnt and salty… Perfect with a beer or radler! And the tzatziki in the gyros plate was very yummy, another great touch to balance the flavors on the plate. And only € 12.50 for that plate accompanied by a bowl of really chill fresh green and golden freshly made potato fries, what more to ask for in a gyros? Unless you need a wrap for it?
