When in Upper Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand, Local Roast is a must try. Of course you have to be a carnivore. They have Roasted Pork, Chicken, Steak and Lamb. The also make sandwiches. As you walk in, you are greeted with friendly faces. You pick out with you want from their counter. It is an open kitchen so you see what you’re getting. Nothing hidden.
I ordered a combination plate with roasted steak, pork, and lamb with gravy, pumpkin, potato, sweet potato, carrots and peas. Oh my world is what I was thinking as I took my first bite. It just reminds me of Thanksgiving back home in the states. The roasted pork was the best. It was very moist and flavorful.
I would definitely recommend this place if you’re ever in the are. It is very clean, family friendly, service was great, and best of all, mouth watering roasted pork. Oh do not forget to try their fresh pork skins and their cheesecakes. Delish!
