Whatever you do, avoid the Lamberjck burger at all costs! It’s simply like corned beef in burger bread and sauces! Apart from that, any other burger you choose is A-OK. Bring back the pizza burger!!!

BurgerFuel really does do the best fries. While I can never finish a standard burger here(they are just so massive), I will demolish those spud or kumara fries with aioli! This Manukau branch has recently moved to the SouthPoint complex, which was an excellent idea on their part. What I like about this branch is that theres a lot more dining space– I’m used to getting my BurgerFuel to go, only because it’s so hard to find a table at times! There’s even a bit of outdoor seating here aswell which is even better over the summer. Their burgers are great. I usually dread getting them because I know I’ll never finish them(small appetite), but I’m usually determined to see how far I can get. I can’t get the lightweight burgers because I find them just a tad too small– so I’m generally stuck in burger limbo. Although that doesn’t mean I don’t have my favourites! I’m extremely partial to the Peanut Piston and the classic Ford Freakout. BurgerFuel has all the ingredients to feed any appetite.

I have a lot to say about Burgerfuel. I am really pissed off at it now but I have had such a long and happy relationship with it prior to last year, so I’m going to meet it half way and give it 3 stars. I loved Burgerfuel. It was great. It first came out back when I was in High School, and I(and 2 of my friends Travis & Jess) always used to walk there after school(quite a long walk) just to enjoy the burger, chip + aioli goodness(aioli was a novelty back then, as far as I know Burgerfuel was the first to come out with it). We even came up with Burgerfuel names for eachother, that’s how much we loved it. I used to get the Combustion Vege, and my freaking god that was an excellent burger. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted a better burger in my entire life(sunflower seed, chickpea, cumin, & coriander pattie topped with avocado, peanut sauce, salad {lettuce}, relish, and aioli). That sauce combination just went so well with the patty. I could have died eating that, out of sheer happiness. I couldn’t ever bring myself to try another veggie burger from there. And then… last year I went to Burgerfuel on an innocent Thursday evening and what do I find? They have gotten rid of my beautiful Combustion Veg! :(Now they just have 2 veggie burgers — a pumpkin one and a kumara one. Seeing as those are my two most hated vegetables in this entire universe, falling into depression was an understatement. I feel really sad now that I am giving 3 stars to a burger joint that I once revered. Burgerfuel, if you read this, please bring Combustion Veg back. Pleeease
