Wok Express

Everyone needs to have a neighbourhood noodle place, you know, for those nights when you just want to binge watch tv from your couch, or as a lazy work-​from-​home lunch option. I am a big fan of Wok Express, and am happy that it’s my go to!
The dish that sold me was the Noodle Works — a very generous portion of noodles, meat, and all kinds of veggies! It’s flavourful, it’s filling, and it isn’t greasy! I also love the dumpling soup — my kind boyfriend brought me some the other day when I was sick, it was the perfect solution. He liked it so much he even got himself some two days later when he was sick (my bad). The Delight Chicken Cashew and Delight Garlic Ginger are also both worth a note. No oil to be found so it’s just the flavours of the meat & veggies plus a bit of soy sauce — I’m making myself hungry just writing about it! These options are fresh, light, and delicious, so you will be satisfied but won’t have the food coma to worry about.
My only «meh» about this place: the first time we ordered from here, my bf got the Mussaman Curry, it was pretty uneventful. I think he was disappointed that it didn’t have loads of stuff like mine did, it was pretty much just meat, potatoes, and sauce. If that’s your thing though, don’t let me stop ya.
The staff are SO friendly! I’ve been to the ones in Ponsonby and Parnell, and both of the regular people at the counter are always smiling, friendly, and going the extra mile for me. I will definitely let Wok Express reign supreme as my go-​to noodle bar!
