Beautiful beachside location! I had lunch here while visiting Waiake Bay. Friendly staff and even had fresh water outside for my dog! I enjoyed a coffee and quiche as I watched the waves break on the beach. Only downside is this café’s hours are very irregular, so it’s easy to miss them!

Good service and generally happy with most things that I order. Nice selection of teas. I love their creamy mushrooms for breakfast.

We just live up the road from Tides and we’ve frequented it many times this summer. The first thing you notice is that this café is probably one of the only cafés in Auckland’s in an absolutely prime waterfront location. It’s right smack bang on the beach. We love going for a swim then having a big feed, or even just an ice cream.
They also do dinners and this would be such a romantic spot to take someone. When it’s all lit up the restaurant looks really lovely and it’s awesome looking out over the moon glinting on the water. Ah.
My favourite thing to eat is the bagel but with gluten free bread. You can’t really go wrong and it’s perfect café food. They have a few things in the cabinet like slices and cakes but it’s mostly menu food.
Waiake is in my opinion one of the best Auckland beaches and it’s made even better with this café.
