Pretty good fruit and vege shop if you’re in the area, and if you’re a local its definitely a better alternative than the supermarket. They’re cheap as chips and they have always got a lot of stock. The shop itself is clean and organised and the staff are nice and friendly, they’ll help you find stuff if you need it. It’s just a simple, generic fruit and vege shop, but they’ve got some good Chinese ingredients in there as well as some pantry basics like soy sauce and what not. The draw card is of course the price though, you’ll spend a fraction of what you would at the supermarket and the veges are always fresh and taste good.

A handy fruit and veg shop if you happen to be out West. It is based at the Roberts Road Shops and is often busy but you can generally get a park. They have some cheap deals on fruit and veg and are considerably cheaper than the nearby Countdown. I got a tray of large mushrooms which only cost a dollar and tasted really good. There isn’t what you what call anything gourmet here but I guess that reflects the market in Te Atatu. They do have a selection of vegetarian Chinese — or at least I think it’s Chinese, I don’t understand any Asian languages. We tried some of bacon there but my wife was not a fan. They also had a big selection of ready to eat noodles and in my experience these ones are much more authentic than ones you get in the supermarket.
