A bit pricey! But nice environment, good for hanging out with friends and sharing food. Food was good, but not especially memorable. Still, you will be sure to get good quality.

Had a great little Pizza Magharita here at Tasca. Friendly service, cool vibe. Really in a nice section of Auckland. I’ll be coming back. Would be good for a coffee or afternoon Sangria as well!

Was disappointed when pop in again after many years. Still the same decorations but maybe owner has changed I guess. Ordered meatball was dry, paella was such a disappointment! Dry and no flavour. Will not come back again

Casual, Spanish eatery in Newmarket. The best thing I ate here was a piece of rose flavoured Turkish delight at the end the meal. Everything else was a bit average, I had the croquetas and patatas bravas. Should have ordered the potatoes and chorizo, they looked tasty. Sangria, however, was good value at $ 20 a jug. Dollar for dollar, there’s more serious Spanish tapas at The Black Hoof.

The Tasca Cafes, on Nuffield street is always cosy and friendly with tapas that I think are reasonably authentic and tasty. I’ve been here 3 times now and every time had a different meal. This time tapas for the beginning of a girls night out. This time I was sharing with a vegetarian friend so had Croquetas, Patatas Bravas, green beans with crusty bread(the beans were killed) and halloumi which was great. The Sangria is good and the service quick. Its handy to the train and close to other bars so a good start for a night out.

Seeing as this place is right across from work, thought I would go grab a snack with a friend. We ordered churros and coffee. For $ 13.50 the churros was not worth it. They weren’t freshly made(I saw a pot of them sitting in the cabinet) the sauce was very runny and so you ended up not having any chocolate on it since it kept dripping. I remember having churros at the churro track at uni for $ 6 and they were fresh and crispy but soft on the inside with right amount of cinnamon sugar coating and thick chocolate sauce. Those were delicious, but these they the opposite and not worth the money.

I first tried Tasca at the end of last year when we had a staff function. We tried most of the tapas(my favourite being the patatas bravas) and had a buffet set up complete with paellas, salads and Turkish Pide bread. It was a great night — the restaurant had a lovely ambience, the service was good and most importantly, the food was delicious!!! So delicious that I really wanted to come back and try their lunch menu. When a recent Grabone deal popped up, it was the perfect opportunity! I booked a table for two ahead of time and I’m so glad I did! We arrived at 1pm on a beautiful sunny Saturday and the place was absolutely packed! Our table was right by the huge windows that open out onto Nuffield Street. They have ample seating, with a great indoor/outdoor flow and it definitely felt like we were in a European city — such a cool vibe! We ordered a Mojito($ 14.50), the Mussels($ 18.50) and the Moorish Eggs with Turkish Pide Bread($ 17.50). The mojito was very refreshing on the hot summers day and instead of being overly sweet, it was minty and had a good amount of lime in it. My Mum had the mussels and she thoroughly enjoyed them — the flavours were a perfect balance of garlic, chilli and lemon. The Moorish eggs were delicious as well. After seeing many Instagram photos of the Moorish eggs, I just knew I had to order them! At $ 17.50, one would think it is too steep, but it was actually very filling! The dish consists of 3 eggs and 6 meatballs in a rich tomato sauce, plus Turkish Pide bread on the side. It was very yummy and it would make a great comfort meal in the winter! The service was friendly and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. Highly recommend Tasca — it’s a great place for all occasions whether it be a function, a birthday, a date night or best of all, a lazy Sunday afternoon!

The kumru burger was carefully constructed– there was sausage, sweet gherkin, fried houmi cheese, tomato. The burger itself was flavorful, but was dry. Probably an aioli sauce would have helped it. The moorish eggs were good. They had sunny side up eggs and meatballs in a tomato based soup.

Went here for a Friday lunch get together with friends. We purchased some grab one deals, one thing I will say is they are very strict on their rules and guidelines and make no allowance to alter them In saying that. The food was very nice and the service is good also. I found the sangria to be average. $ 35 for a litre of sangria.

This is where I go when I’m feeling fancy. The haloumi bruschetta is incredible, as are the moorish eggs. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with the staff and the atmosphere is incredibly refreshing. Sitting outside on a summers day with a few tapas is my idea of a good time

We popped in here after work for some tapas. The staff are always really friendly and the place is usually pretty busy. We ordered 4 tapas and fries with two glasses of wine. The bruschetta was good but we were not very impressed with the haloumi cheese on top which didn’t really add anything to the dish. The stuffed pepper was definitely the winner with rice and raisins, it tasted very fresh with great flavours. We also had minced chicken in round balls with aioli and a tuna dish with cannilinni beans. The tuna was our least favourite and would not order this again. I can’t put my finger on why I didn’t like it but the flavours did not do it for me. This is a good restaurant for fresh food and friendly service

Ok… For starters the service here was not too forthcoming. We waited a while for them to come take the order and then the waitress had to come back because she had forgotten it!!! To be honest it was taking them that long to come take our order in the first place that we nearly walked out the door. And it was not busy!!! I ordered the spanish omellete and a «café con leche ». Turned out to be the worst example of both i have come across. Having spent several years living and working in Spain amongst the locals i think i know what a real spanish omelette and«café con leche» should be like. The omelette was nowhere near a real Spanish omellete as had too many extra ingredients thrown in and the café i could have made better at home by myself… and do!!! My wife had an eggs benedict with salmon and again it was nothing special. We were brought water by the waitress toward the end of the meal, not at the beginning as it should have been and when i went up to pay the bill i got more of a surly«what do you want«greeting than a cheery«how can i help ». All in all we will be giving this place a wide wide bearth in the future. Guys who work at Tasca… go to Spain and learn how to make proper tortillas and café con leche… oh, and brush up on the service skills!

Recently just stopped in to Tasca to grab a quick bite to eat while roaming the streets of New Market and was warmly greeted by the staff and as it was a Monday right at 12pm there was plenty of free seats(but I have been past in the late afternoons and the place is heaving with people) we were promptly asked if we would like anything to drink and what the specials of the day were. I was simple and got the spaghetti and meat balls and my wife ordered the open steak sandwich and a Moroccan tea. The food was fast and so were the drinks the tea was hot and refreshing and the spaghetti and meat balls was just what the doctor ordered for satisfying my my need to feed it was the perfect size not to big or to small the spaghetti was fresh and had plenty of meat balls and a very hearty tomato sauce, my wife’s sandwich looked nice and fresh and with mouth watering caramelised onions. The only let down we had was just a poor choice of steak by the chief I am a master butcher by trade and now work for a company exporting some of the finest meat and produce NZ has to offer so meat is something that is near and dear to my heart, we were a little bit disappointed that at least 50% of the steak still had the silver skin left on making it impossible for the knife to cut let alone the old pearly whites. Apart from one oversight that I am sure was just a one off we had a great time, since our visit others had passed onto us that we should try the tapers and we are defiantly looking at giving a long afternoon on a hot summers day with a glass of wine on one hand and a table of fine tapers a good way to end a hard week.

As my partner put it «it was ok» the service was friendly and it’s a lovely space. We were seated on the couches next to the fire which was lovely on a cold winters night. We ordered croquettes, grilled haloumi and garlic bread(very heavy on the carbs), they were tasty but nothing outstanding about them. Then for our main we shared a pizza(forgive me I can’t remember the name) with caramelised onion potato cheese and fresh rocket on top, it was a bit to sweet for my liking, a little lack lustre for me. All in all it was ok and reasonable, don’t know if I’d go back though.

Food was nice but the portions are big so just be careful if you can’t eat to much. You might have to doggie bag it. The service is great, they do ask you for id when you order some drinks.

Great place to go for any occasion. I’ve been here a few times for brunch and I love this place. Great service and atmosphere. My favourite here for lunch is the Carbonara. And I always treat myself to their iced coffee and/or Affogato.

Tasca has such a cool vibe, very laid back, slightly more casual dining but no compromise on the food side of things or service. In fact the first time I came here I was totally impressed by the level of service. I was being picky with the menu and the waiter was really kind, they don’t really have anything for vegans but I had a salad made for me. He kept an eye on my friend and I the entire time we were there checking to make sure everything was okay. The park I love the best is the couch down the back. In the winter time they light the fireplace for you too. It is a great place to just chill out with a drink and tapas with friends, which Tasca is really good for — groups. They have some pretty large tables and a slightly more private one at the back of the restaurant and you can reserve tables. I find the service to be well above average, it provides for a great environment. One of my top places to go to in Newmarket.

Tasca is a Spanish restaurant situated on Nuffield Street in Newmarket. The indoor outdoor flow of Tasca is one of my favourite things about it. With great big windows that open out onto Nuffield Street, you can sit at a table inside yet feel you are very much outdoors while enjoying the sun. There are tables and chairs set up on the actual street too, as well as plenty of indoor seating. Whether there for breakfast, lunch or dinner, Tasca has a menu that will delight, excite and satisfy your cravings! The pancakes and blueberries with whipped cream for breakfast are my favourite. Not too heavy, the pancakes are brilliantly light and sweet and are perfectly complimented by the blueberries. However is savoury is your thing, the omelettes with chorizo sausage are equally as great. Tasca also offer a good selection of both Spanish and New Zealand wines, and more than happy to accommodate private functions. Although located in quite a popular part of town, every time I go to Tasca I feel as though I have discovered somewhere unknown. Tasca has such a friendly, unpretentious, happy go lucky vibe that it’s hard to believe it’s located in the heart of trendy Newmarket.

There are few things in life that bring out my inner grumpy old man but tapas is definitely one of them. I know what I like, where I like it from and am very reluctant to stray out of my paprika-scented rut to try anywhere different, thank you very much. Unfortunately, my favourite tapas bar lays some 20,000 kilometres away. Not an easy venture when I get a craving for Patatas Bravas on a Saturday night. However, last weekend, I had just that, so thought I’d go and try out Tasca in Newmarket. And try out I did… their sangria(amazing!), their pan-fried Chorizo(divine) and their live flamenco band(an excellent accompaniment to my meal). In fact, all of this paired with the balmy Auckland evening and the completely open restaurant front, made me feel that I was dining in old town Barcelona. Surely an ambience all tapas restaurants strive for. The staff, although obviously rushed off their feet in the busyness, offered excellent service and great food recommendations(oh, the calamari!) and altogether provided an enchanting atmosphere in which to spend a Saturday night. Hard as I tried to squint on the way home though, I just couldn’t get the Sky Tower to look like the Sagrada Família.
