This is the second time I’m here. Food 3.5 star, service 4, environment 3.5(table was not clean) I remembered last time when I came maybe because of the high expectation and the price(each dessert is $ 9) wasn’t that impressive. This time, ordered baguette and one Dessert plus two macaroons. I like the baguette although not very much French but fresh and tasty. Dessert was amazing. Macaroon was so so not recommend. But when I tried croissant found just taste like from supermarket, shouldn’t like that

When I die I want my funeral catered by this sweet patisserie ! It will be the fanciest funeral, where everyone will be talking about the beautiful cakes and the delicious coffee . I came here on a Saturday afternoon and the small place was a constant turnover of people in the know about this patisserie . Seating is at a premium and it only fits 15 people seated. But the staff were very accomodating and got people through and tables cleared efficiently . I choose a Tahitian vanilla bean Mille fueille and a short black, I’m in love !!! In my everlasting desire for the perfect custardy goodness this was it ! I shall dream of this perfect slice FOREVER ! In fact I now feel this place has ruined me for bakery goods. Although my quest for custard slices shall never be over this place has now set the bar so high . Till we meet again Patisserie Vaniye.

I found heaven and its tucked away in parnell! Any place that offers macaroons and variations of hot chocolate is going to give me that guilty smile, you know the one that says I know I shouldn’t gorge myself on sweet sweet treats but I’m going to anyway. We got my birthday desserts from here last year and they were the most beautifully designed cakes I’ve ever seen, but I hadn’t actually visited this place until recently. The number one thing I suggest for all sweet lovers is the dark hot chocolate, it’s like drinking happiness! Can you tell I have a chocolate addiction? Pop in for your afternoon sweet treat the staff will take good care of you!

I did not know this place existed until my Dad mentioned it in conversation one day. He had only been there for a coffee, but raved about the patisserie items because he knows I have a sweet tooth. Patisserie Vaniye is owned and operated by a couple, Sonia and Laurent Haumonte who produce the most exquisite French desserts that all look like works of art and are almost too pretty to eat. I went there with my Dad one early Saturday morning. We both ordered a hot drink and a dessert. It took a long time trying to choose which one I would have because I wanted to try one of everything! Eventually, I settled on a ‘Chou-Chou’, which consists of light caramel cream choux profiteroles, toffee caramel, brownie base and chocolate caramel mousse. My dad opted for the Valrhona Chocolate Mousse in a dark chocolate shell topped with roasted hazelnuts, which tasted like a more quality version of Nutella. Both were excellent! With the desserts priced between $ 8 and $ 9, one would think it is expensive. However, once you see the desserts in the flesh, you will never look back. Carefully crafted and full of flavour, you will want to spend every weekend at this cute patisserie!

Can someone please wipe the drool off my face. Haha. What started as a place to hide from the downpour turned out to be a great cake shop. I didn’t even know this place existed before today. Ok, I might have been living in a cave for quite some time. Lol. Let’s start on the things that they sell in the shop. They sell those sweet thingamajig. I am still suffering from the dental bill of my last visit to milse. And now, I found another place to spend my hard earned money. Everything in the shop is delicious! And they do taste as good as they look in the photos. So don’t hesitate, book your next dental appointment first. Then gather the troops and hit Vaniye for a afternoon indulgence. I didn’t get to sample their coffee, maybe that gives me a reason to visit again?

There is a reason I keep going back to Vaniye despite the price, which is $ 8 – 9 per mini cakes. They are simply gorgeous. The cakes are carefully designed to visually appeal to everyone. My friend really liked the Zen, a green tea flavoured mousse with red bean paste inside. I am not a big fan of green tea flavour but this was amazing. My Caramel cake, called Chou-chou, has chestnut cream profiteroles on top(which is crisply and creamy) and a brownie and caramel mousse as a base. I have also tried their Guanaja, which is a Valrhona chocolate marquise which had a great soft chocolate taste. But it lacked of a crème brulée flavour mentioned on its description. I felt that the Rasberry mousse, apple slice and lemon slice does not jump out as much as others. But that could be just me. They use Kokako for their coffee beans which is nice, but couple of instance I received burnt coffees. Bummer. However all were forgiven because of the cakes. The flavour, the design and tiny but great atmosphere.

Definitely as good as it gets! Great place to pick up amazing deserts to impress. The only problem is that it’s too hard to choose. Great selection of sweet treats for all tastes(including some gluten free choices). It is a tad pricey, but what you get is well worth it! Great place for those day when you feel like spoiling yourself a little. Also staff is very attentive and helpful. Also heard good things about their breakfast and lunch selection, but yet to try. To sum up, amazing French patisserie well worth the trip and the money.

Two words: French & Creations. This is the highest standard French patisserie I have found in Auckland. Their baguette, croissant and pain au chocolat(that thankfully aren’t coated in icing sugar) are outclassed by the amazing delicacies on offer. The showcase of gourmet desserts on offer is stunning. Even the ever popular macarons are eclipsed by these works of food art. Real French staff to help to fully describe the mouthwatering desserts, even the owner’s small personal French library. This is the place for an amazing afternoon treat or to order a special, first-class delicacy. Über chic gastronomy in Parnell; the quintessential delights of France and definition of gourmet.
