Came in for lunch for their lunch special $ 13.50 for calamari. Which was very nice! The only comments I have are as follows. Service was alright even though it was quiet. They were pleasant and friendly. The food as mentioned was very nice. However value for money. Questionable. 3 pieces of calamari with a large portion of rocket salad. Would of expected 6 pieces for that value. More like an entrée than a main.

One of my favourite places to eat in new market. The atmosphere is dynamic yet relaxed and fun. The food is always great, not the absloute best but consistant and just the right portion. I could definitly say I never had a bad meal here. Occasionally the service is slow, but that depends on which time of the day you find yourself here. They have free wifi and no surcharge on public holidays.

Always accommodating, good but usual menu. The best thing about this place — it opens till late so you can still find something to munch on late at night, when almost everything is closed in Newmarket.

This is my go to place for coffee if I am in the Nuffield St area, when I used to work in Newmarket the offered discount coffee’s for workers so that was what initially attracted me. Nowadays I come here to meet friends for coffee, I come for more romantic coffee dates and I even came here for my celebratory meal after my graduation. It’s a really versatile place, a light hearted café by day transitioning into afternoon drinks and then a lovely evening atmosphere for dinner. They offer a range of meals but I usually go for the risotto or one of their pizzas but mostly their risotto because it’s amazing. Practically every time I have been in I get served by the same guy and he’s excellent. He’s attentive, polite and efficient as well as quite nice to look at: p The décor is what makes this place especially cool, they have murals on the wall and their menu written on chalkboard paint. If you still aren’t convinced, come here on your birthday, they give you a free meal!

This is one of my favourite places in Newmarket. Often I come here for late night caffeine fixes as they are open until late(the only place to get Allpress at 9:30pm) though I have been for breakfast and dinner. Being a carb fiend I really enjoy the bruschetta and the pizzas here but there is a great selection of food available on the menu and on Sunday nights they have an Albanian barbeque for $ 20 a head if that’s your thing. The food is fantastic here, the staff are very attentive and you don’t have to wait long for anything, plus they have free wifi! On a sunny day you can ditch the indoors for an seat outside on the tree lined sidewalk which is a really nice way to spend an afternoon or evening.

Nuffield St Café is not the place for your morning coffee, unless you sleep in an Armani suit or wake up with soap-opera make-up.(It’s also not a place for midgets but that’s another story). As you may have guessed, it is situated on Nuffield Street, the über-trendy avenue of Newmarket, and staff have the necessary attitude to match. The full title for this business is Nuffield Street Café– Bar & Bistro. The counter and faux-chalk-board-menu is about as cluttered and confusing as this title. As one staff member took my order, only making eye contact with the money in my hand, another staff member near interrogated me from behind, something I don’t respond particularly well too before a morning coffee. Said coffee was plonked down after an unexplained wait, and a glass of water trailed after about the time I finished. Maybe a place better suited to an over-priced platter and wine one evening, but not as a café. Some places should stick to excelling at one aspect instead of spreading themselves thin over many. (As a pedantic side point: a painting of The Mad Hatter’s hat says«Do you like my hat?» instead of «10/6»).

Nuffield St Café is a European style restaurant, bistro, bar and café all rolled in one. Boasting a menu with different options ranging from Albanian sausages, eggs benedict, pizza, a dessert and cheese menu and much more. The menu is perfect for anytime of the day with different menu options, brunch and breakfast, a lunch menu and unlike other restaurants they don’t close when they preparing for the dinner rush; instead they are open and offer the grazing at the bar menu. There is a also a separate pasta and pizza menu which one can sample from throughout the day. My favourite dish at Nuffield St Café is Nani’s beef burger which is a burger like no other. The beef is succulent, thick, spicy and full of flavour. The beef patties aren’t store burgers and are actually made by the owner’s father which to me adds a special factor to the whole dish.
