After I sold my house, I needed to store half of the contents for a year, allowing me the freedom to stay in temporary accommodation for a while. I’ve got a few big items, but most of what I have managed to be boxed up and packed away. I needed three meters by three meters, and at National Mini Storage you get another three meters up, just about right for half a three-​bedroom home.
What I liked about this facility was the fact that I could drive right up to my container, and that there was no stairs to deal with — handy when you’ve got big kauri bookcases.
The deal was sweet; they offered free use of their trailer, offered one month’s free storage, and gave me a conveniently located unit. Plus I’ve got 24⁄7 access, all at a very competitive price.
